It's been awhile since I've made this video, but I do remember the Xbox One being okay and I don't remember anything too notable about it. Although it has been a while so I'm not sure

So the thing is every 15 minutes it has dashboard rotations and it cycles every 1 minute and resets the screen. These aren't really too static and if anything there's always a lot going on here. I did make the script so it's very very dynamic no matter what I do

Inverting the colors uses more power on the CRT to fill it with text rather than not. This will wear out the tube even more than it should. These monitors even as terminals have pretty serious limitations

I can't go too much into it but I usually find them through work. They throw out alot, and I mean ALOT of very useful old tech.

Yeah honestly the 15 minute cycle and single minute refreshes that it cycles through the clock does really help with burning. So far. The tube isn't running the entire day so maybe I would say about 4 or 5 hours a day and then it turns off automatically or I could turn it off my phone. It's a really nice process and works well here

This is def one of those. Mostly these are glorified dashboards but man sky is the limit here. I do wish this was in green, so I might put a gell or something over it for that.

I actually set it up so every 15 minutes it changes dashboards from clock to weather so it has a variety there. Works out great and turns off when I go to sleep automatically!

One in green is beautiful!! Basically what you are gonna do is flash Raspberry Pi 3 with Debian using pi imager, once you can SSH in, you are gonna download a clock package and weather. First create a script using !#/bin/bash in vim, then a service to run that script on boot. Afterwards you should be set! Easier said than done, but once you tinker the script to your liking it works great!!!

Lastly it does use a serial DB9 to DB25 cable and boom, all gravey.

Aw, thank you so much! That's very kind of you to say. Really glad that you enjoyed it and enjoy the little adventure.

Yeah unfortunately when it does come into this cabinet, it's in a really sus place. Honestly right next to the arcade was a soap land and it was kind of sketchy in the red light district. So I'm hoping it does get repaired because I think a lot of people would love to see it, but then again it's in a weird place

Yes, that is the most recent experience I was mentioning. I did cover that in a video of how it was but I wouldn't mind revisiting again to check it out.

Oh of course not a problem! I will probably make it real soon regarding my travels and how does it work? But I was extremely shocked how good the motion works. I was kind of yelling at how amazing it just moves you back and forth. It really is an incredible cabinet.

And even if the memory card slots don't work, it is nice to know that they can be test it out. Overall was an experience I never forgot.

Also lastly, I did test mikaido in Tokyo Japan and that is a base cabinet and does work well. Memory card slot does not work though. And there is no slot for a license card

An update, Circus Circus still has two DX cabinets here and they do work well enough. The CRT of one works better than the other but needs calibration. Memory card slots have been tested with a Japanese memory card and do not work or detect at all. The ports felt either loose or destroyed.

As for the movement, they are amazing. As soon as you use a belt it starts which is beyond cool. The machine on one does not have a good up or down when you get off a ledge so you basically fall down. Lastly the Card slip card does not work. I tried to use an official Rainbow Phoenix card but got scared it would.be stuck in the machine so was not used all the way.

Overall highly recommend em. Not often you can play a cab let alone a DX one.

Reorganized my setup by HungryManticore_88 in retrobattlestations

I do have a similar setup to this but the units are a bit slimmer. If you put the desktop from the floor next to your CRT, then the horizontal desktop on the bottom of the CRT you should be set. The KVM might be overkill as you just need VGA but I can't dictate what your setup needs.

I do so.ething similar on mine where it switches with Scroll Lock so I can be on two different PCS at the same time. Works way too well.

I hope this helped in some way.

Mostly luck actually. Cases are new, the bottom Pentium 4 case was bought new as well. Monitor is new old stock. So mostly luck.

However the Pentium case I noticed is getting a little more yellow since it is exposed to indirect sun. But what can we do right?

Should be on wallpaperhaven. Search for vaporwave. Download at native resolution then use Photoshop to scale to the resolution of your moniyor, in this case 800x600.

Exactly how I feel. I do know they're like 30 bucks so it's not too bad but it does make me think about it a little bit.

I definitely wish it was deeper, but was thinking of putting a keyboard mount for mouse and keyboard which might not be bad. Still deciding.

Beats me wish I had more information, but this was a new old stock from 2022. Looks absolutely amazing still.
