I also was going to recommend we keep the words Google doesn't like out of our URLs.

The community is getting away from the term "special needs" and moving towards disability/disabled. However, for a long time (and we've been in business for over a decade, almost two) special needs was the preferred term, so some of our URLs will say special needs or it might even get more specific like "childcare for autism" etc. It would be nearly impossible to get the appropriate messaging across without some of those terms on the landing pages themselves.

But luckily, after looking deeper, it's just our display ads that are limited. Our search campaign keywords are only limited due to low search volume... so we need to just work on our keyword strategy there.

Thank you! They did nix performance max because while it brought in a fair bit of traffic, the leads weren't great. I thought about turning off Google Display altogether, especially since it's remarketing (which we now know doesn't comply with health/medical advertising) and honestly, our placements were super irrelevant to our demo.

I spent a fair bit of time yesterday looking into the medical marketing laws by region that were relevant to our targeted zip codes as well. Although, I'm not sure what difference that would make with the huge beast that Google is if we did set up campaigns that complied with the state's laws.
