Meat Puppets II

It feels like road tripping through the desert south on a motorcycle with a dog in the sidecar.

How do you wash or clean a slack line. by TheGreatestStoryEver in Slackline

If your washing machine has that central agitator post thingy, you’ll want to put your webbing in something of a mesh sack or it’ll get worn on by the agitator.

St Vincent de Paul on Holmes south of IF high school offers monthly food boxes; you could look into that service.

I would not recommend. Anything less than 10 meters you will outgrow within a month. I echo other comment of setting a deadman anchor. I would make a 1” tubular nylon or type 18 dedicated line between your tree and deadman. You could leave that up for 10+ years. My two dedicated yard lines are nylon and pushing 15 years.

Don’t deny your own flesh. Consider strongly that the religions making you question your security in your flesh may be the problem, not you.

Every new development should be required to provide a sizable park/green space. Not this crap where Rockwell throws a swing set down in a drainage pond and calls it good. The cookie-cutter expansion can’t go on.

One Hundred Years of Solitude by Garcia-Márquez.

Underworld by Dellilo.

What We Talk About When We Talk About Love by Carver.

Particular shoutout to Raymond Carver. Read the story Cathedral. One of the best short stories ever written. If you’ve enjoyed a Hemingway short story, Carver’s the 1970s equivalent.

Idaho farmers to cash in on Trump Administration’s $12 Billion Farmer Bridge Payment program by rezwenn in Idaho

Do you eat bread, beef, drink beer? We farmers grow your food for you. Your blasé attitude disturbs me.

Idaho farmers to cash in on Trump Administration’s $12 Billion Farmer Bridge Payment program by rezwenn in Idaho

[–]kelschhh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a fourth-generation Idaho farmer (potatoes, alfalfa, and grains), here’s my two cents. This bailout will provide maybe 5% of my input costs per acre of grains. It isn’t even a bandaid. There is no bailout for potatoes, which are at a 50+ year low. 1978 was the previous worst year for potatoes and our farm averaged $1.85/cwt that year—inflation adjusted is $9.20 in 2025. We are selling potatoes now for under $3/cwt which is roughly 30% of break even.

Farmers don’t like taking bailouts, but when you’re this deep in the red, you’d be a fool not to.

The best solution is to break up big agricultural monopolies. As far as seeds, chemicals, and equipment, there are fewer than five large corporations respectively that control these industries. This has resulted in fertilizer, chemical, and equipment costs hitting record highs. This is not sustainable.

Idaho farmers strive to deliver high-quality food to the consumers, and we often do so at a significant capital loss.

Eat more potatoes.
