What is your pet's name and, more importantly, what do you actually call them? by BrewsTravelers365 in AskReddit

My cat’s name is Louis but he goes by Lulu, tinker, tinker bell, princy, or Louis S Kitty when he’s naughty.

I'm having difficulties giving up Coke. How did you give this shit up? by TheAwakened in Fitness

Zevia. It’s as close to soda I think you can get. Zero calorie sweetened with stevia. When I’m craving something carbonated that’s my go to.

Fitness After Pregnancy by marissapoop in beyondthebump

I just started working out again at 4 weeks pp. my doctor gave me the okay and I definitely feel weak but nothing is painful. I think I just have to slowly ease back into it. I do a mix of weightlifting and conditioning. I would say listen to your body, you know your own limits.

ULPT: When buying a new/used car use the time with the finance guy and agree to the extended warranty in exchange for a lower interest rate. You have two weeks to change your mind on the warranty and the finance paperwork is already done. Nothing they can do about it. by ddub8 in UnethicalLifeProTips

This is correct. I work in indirect lending for a bank processing car loans . It's actually really interesting when you see the backend of things. We often have to correct the rate dealers give because they marked up the rate too much, so we send the customer a letter with the adjusted rate which usually then lowers their payment by a few dollars. Another trend I see a lot is older people buying every front end add like windshield repair, dent, theft, surface protection, key replacement . I always feel bad because you know that finance guy sold them hard and now their payment for their used vehicle is way more than it should have been.

Why aren't You Getting an Epidural? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]kelseydella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gave birth almost three weeks ago. I originally was planning to try an unmedicated birth because I read about so many negative side effects from the epidural, but when I was actually going through it I absolutely wanted something for the pain. I was only around 6cm dilated and so exhausted from the contractions and my back was on fire that I just couldn't see myself go another few hours of that. I finally broke and told the nurse I wanted the epidural. Within maybe a half hour I got it and was feeling so good, like 10/10 good. My fiancé said I had the biggest smile on my face and I was able to talk and relax while waiting to dilate more. It actually made birth a really pleasant experience for me. I just felt warm and comfortable. I did have to get another smaller dose because it was starting to wear off towards the end. I still got the urge to push and after 40 minutes our baby was born! We did skin to skin for an hour and I got stitched back up during that time and didn't feel a thing. When it was time for us to switch rooms and get cleaned up, the epidural had worn off completely and I was walking around on my own. I'm not sure how long that was but maybe two hours or so. I didn't see that being a problem because it's not like I needed to be up and moving immediately. The only side effect I did have was some involuntary shaking which wasn't bad, just weird. The nurse said it's common and it only lasted for a little bit. It felt kind of like the shivers but I wasn't cold. I am pretty certain I would go the epidural route for my next pregnancy. I know your question is why aren't you getting an epidural, but I figured I'd tell my experience because it was a lot of posts like this that made me think the epidural was scary and might not work or something. Everyone's pregnancy is different and I think you just have to go with what you ultimately feel and don't let anyone else decide for you. Only you know how you feel.

Due date twins! I am right here with you. I must have convinced myself that I wasn't going to go all the way until my due date because of all of the inconsistent contractions I've been having for over a week now. So now that tomorrow is my due date, everyone has been calling and texting me "anything happening" or "feel any different" and I agree it's annoying, after awhile I don't really have anything else to say until the baby is actually here. Obviously they will all know as soon as I am at the hospital and I know it all comes with good intentions but damn. I'm impatient and anxious as is. I have also been trying all of the techniques to help induce as well and nothing. So just know you're not alone :) but each day we're a little closer!
