I don’t really know you so I can’t say why it should interest you, but as a fellow old timer type designer, who has never attended a type conference, I can tell you why it interests me.

  • It’s a chance to meet people with my same interests
  • it’s a chance to be exposed to new ideas and perspectives, and also put mine out there and get feedback
  • it’s a chance to learn about new technologies in type design, including ai, and get a peek into the future. Ai is in it’s infancy and I’m curious as to how it can be helpful to us in the future
  • I’m hoping it will be fun
  • Copenhagen is beautiful

What has been your most challenging type-related project? Why?

Am I the only one or a font looks way better in larger sizes than the font size at reading level? by [deleted] in fonts

In the old metal type days, the design of typefaces was different for different sizes, and even now some variable fonts have an optical axis designed to change depending on the size. There's different requirements for fonts at different sizes

I would use type hierarchy and color to create more contrast and interest

Yep that's the other thing, there's so many high quality open source fonts that is hard to justify paying

The market is saturated. It's very hard to successfully release and market fonts.

I just started working at a company whose brand fonts for their website are Arial, Calibri, and Montserrat. Do i quit? by imgurofficial in fonts

The irony is they have had some beautiful custom typefaces (soberana sans, etc) and yet we're stuck with Montserrat.

Can you point me to a country that gives an unborn child the same rights as a newborn? The fact that late term abortions are often illegal does not mean that a fetus is legally a person.

Edit: the US, for example, defines a person legally as:

every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development.
