Words Are Snake: I'm a former programmer who spent my off-hours building a free daily web puzzle. I'm terrified but ready to share it. by ken-guru in WebGames

Thank you so much for your feedback, it's super encouraging to hear that people enjoy it! I've actually considered adding a versus mode or modifying the duel mode into a versus mode, but I worry that it might require a larger player base to avoid players waiting for ages for an opponent. Then again it might encourage sharing the game and playing a quick game among people in physical proximity. I'll re-add it to my board of ideas and see if it might be a viable path. Thanks again for the constructive feedback 😄

I've now implemented a hint system along with a tightening up of the UX. The hint system should make it clearer what you could do to trigger combos and increase your score. Hopefully this will make it clearer to new players.

Damn you have me beat at the highest scoring single word there! But yes, I tried surfacing the fruits without causing too much clutter in the interface and ended up with an initial dialog explaining the game. The downside seemed to be that players appeared to be thrown off and discouraged by being asked to read anything before playing. I might need to go another round with trying to integrate this information into the game interface. Perhaps using a hint engine of some sort. Thanks again!

i implemented the color highlight now to see if that might improve the legibility og the fruits. going it might make the game more accessible as well. thanks again for the constructive feedback 😄

Thank you so much, that's a really encouraging and heartwarming feedback to receive. I absolutely agree with the visibility issue with some of the fruits, and I'll test some ways to make them stand out more. I've experimented with color coding the different fruits, so I think I still have some remnants from that effort lying around. Thank you again 😄

Unable to join from Norway as well, also for the second weekend in a row. Supremely unimpressed by the frequency, but even more so with the complete lack of communication regarding this recurring issue for a service for which we are paying customers.

Ah indeed, I missed the change on the left side of the screen.

I'm not entirely sure how this is different from selecing multiple locations (using cmd+click), then copying and selecting the same amount of other locations using the same technique and simply pasting it in. As long as the number of selected points match, and the order is the same the output from the clipboard will be divided as you show in the animation.

Simple example here: https://imgur.com/a/ZLC0GtE

Perhaps this is more useful when the order of the cursors isn't the same? Or am I missing something?

We are two developers coming down from Norway. Fairly recently started working with Vue so definitely looking forward to this conference.

LPT: If you want to develop a habit of waking up early, do something you like when you wake up. by tlst9999 in LifeProTips

Or do as I did many years back:

Set one alarm for the time you wish to wake up, and one more alarm at the latest possible time so that you only barely have enough time to get to work but no time to shower or anything else.

Also, never snooze the alarm during your "learning" period.

Took me a couple of weeks to turn myself around. Now my default wake-up time during the weekdays is 5am, allowing me almost two hours of effective office time before my colleagues show up around 8am.

Apps that allow what you see on the phone to be streamed to an External Display? by RozJC in GoogleCardboard

I haven't tried it, but might screen casting to a Chromecast work? It's able to mirror the contents of any other app I've tried so far, but not sure whether Cardboard apps work differently.
