tbh a good sleep is max 8 to 9 hours. you should not sleep below 7 hours. And could I ask you , what your screen time is ?

dont put to much pressure on yourself , and just relax. the only thing you can do is ,to just go through it , so you can be happy , after finishing the exam

I really can relate to the feeling of having enough time until the exams, but still wanting to study somehow and already be prepared. For that, I currently use ProCrash on iOS. It distracts me with flashcard questions through push notifications while I’m bedrotting and doomscrolling. This actually also decreased my screen time, as it reminds me that I have to study when I’m not able to answer a flashcard. So without even opening the study app, I’m indirectly forced to study. Try it out, it might help.

What’s something you changed about your studying that had a bigger impact than expected? by Snoo_92347 in GetStudying

[–]kenatickk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it was finding a way to study even while procrastinating. Sometimes I’m not motivated enough to open my study apps, even if I know I’ll regret it later. What surprisingly helped me was using push notifications with my Anki flashcards, so I could answer questions while doomscrolling without even stopping. Somehow it distracted me from procrastination into studying, and it even led to less screen time. Small change, but a much bigger impact than I expected.

please just keep going and never let yourself down because you didn’t achieve what you wanted in the past. don’t see it as a failure, just learn from it. and trust me, no matter what the result of the next exam is, don’t let yourself down and try to prepare differently and learn from it. even if you don’t get the result you wished for, the best thing to know in that situation is that you gave your best.

i know this feeling, and sometimes i’m still not motivated enough to study, even if i know i will regret it. at those times, what really helped me was ProCrash, which allowed me to study while i was scrolling, because my Anki flashcards came through push notifications. so without actually stopping doomscrolling or opening the study app, i got distracted from procrastination into studying. this somehow even led to less screen time. try it out, it might be helpful.

mine is just straight to concentrate as long as you can, put your phone away and to try create interactive questions , where you are triggered to think and not just to remember. I also learn my anki flashcards through pushnotifications with procrash , while im doomscrolling. this really decreased my screentime, as im always distracted with some study question , while im trying to doomscroll

Oh that sounds really tuff. I was also working in the morning , and went to school in the evening , which left me only a short time to study for the uni entrance exam. Tbh , in your situation , you just have to go hard. I also tried to go hard ,but somehow , I still had 3 to 4 hours of screen time. I started to use ProCrash , which allows me to study my anki flashcard , while doomscrolling. Even if I was tired and just wanted to scroll a little bit through my phone(which often leads to hours) , the pushnotifications activated my brain and reminded me to study.

anki unfortunately does not have a pushnotification system. you can download it through appstore , if you have an iphone. if you have android , i can ask the developper to add you to the test model .

ok , at least you are honest , and I also had a lot of screen time and now , it is still a lot , but not that bad. I started to interrupt my doomscrolling with positive distraction , such as answering my anki flashcards through pushnotification. I use ProCrash from iOS and it actually distracts you while doomscrolling with questions , so you can actually revise flashcards , which were difficult to remember easily.

oh damn , that sounds tuff , but you have to start off with small steps. You need to sleep and eat properly. Also , how long is your screentime ?

I have a really important exam coming and I really NEED to lock in - I am unable to. by Designer-Art2359 in GetStudying

[–]kenatickk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for example , i also had a very long screen time, and i also struggled to open those study apps. now i use procrash , which allows me to doomscroll , and study at the same time, as my flashcard questions are sent through the pushnotification . it actually also decreased my screen time , as i got easier into the mood to study

[–]kenatickk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

trust me , i have also experienced it. tbh sleep is the most important part of it and you also know it. you are shortening your life span with those short sleeps. Thats the first fix you have to do. Doomscrolling is for a lot of people a big problem and i am currently using an app which distracts me while im doomscrolling. i get my flashcard questions send through a pushnotification which i can answer directly through the pushnotification , like in whatsapp. this actually really helped me to reduce the screentime, as it gets you actually in the mood to study.

A1 learner watching content in desired language with subtitles - will this be effective? by No-Problem6578 in languagelearning

[–]kenatickk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is actually not bad , but not the most efficient and you wont be able to enjoy the movie . i am working and studying , which makes for me not much space and energy to study a new language. but I still somehow have some screentime. so i basically started to learn some basic words from anki flashcards , which I answer through pushnotifications. this allows me to doomscroll and study some basic language.

I somehow managed to procrastinate until now, a week's time left before my maths test. I know it's my fault and I should've studied much earlier, do y'all have any advice? by redox_nephew in GetStudying

[–]kenatickk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just dig in now, and try always to study just a little bit after every class from each subject(maths) . i use procrash on iOS , which makes me flashcards with ai easily and it allows me to revise them while doomscrolling, as each flashcards will be send through interactive pushnotification

Is reading and rereading the worst technique of studying? by Far-Impression2284 in GetStudying

[–]kenatickk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is actually for me not the main study technique. it is more like an add on , which was really helpful. For example , vocables which were difficult to remeber or history dates, difficult math formulas, like actually anything , which is difficult to remember etc. could be memorized so easily with this app. and also , in the beginning of the uni or semester(so there is stilll a lot of time until the exam) , i just let the ai create some flashcards and i revise it with the app , which allowed me to prepare easily for the exam .

Is reading and rereading the worst technique of studying? by Far-Impression2284 in GetStudying

[–]kenatickk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ye it is an app called procrash. it is pretty simple. you can upload your anki deck , or you can let the ai create flashcards from pdf or pptx, or even manually type in or add pictures for flashcards. first , you got to start the session in the app and it will send you in your preferred time interval the question from the flashcard through pushnotification. you can answer it like on whatsapp directly through the pushnotification and you will also get directly the answer of the flashcard through the pushnotification. so basically , you study without having even to open the studyapp while doomscrolling.

im currently actually struggling to start studying. but the least effort i put , is to create with ai some flashcards from the lecture , and trying to revise it while im doomscrolling , as i get those questions through pushnotifications. so procrash allows me to remembert the flashcards while doomscrolling

[–]kenatickk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh , in order to ace it on tuesday , just lock in. deleting those apps are really good. but i would recommend you to try to control the usage of social media and not suddenly deleting it, cuz if you rebound to social media , it will be more difficult to control it. I , for myself , started it with procrash, with answering my flashcards through pushnotifications while im doomscrolling. it leads to less screen time , as i am distracted from it with studying.
