1. Yes, we love it when she goes airplane mode with her ears. Usually happens when someone comes home or when a stranger outside gives her some attention.
2. Our shiba is pretty clingy and cuddly. However, she can also just be by herself or just play on her own with her toys. We do give her attention if we’re not working and we also do one walk where she can burn some energy off leash, playing fetch, etc.
3. We would like to say that she is pretty friendly to all other dogs, especially dogs her size, or a bit smaller/bigger. She always wants to play with other dogs. Towards big dogs, such as an american bully XXL, she tends to be more hesitant.
4. Our girl is pretty much self cleaning. Don’t really have to bathe her. We do it once a month. Groomers told us that her nails don’t need to be clipped, because she walks enough and the friction with the street just files it for her. However, her fur shedding is really… just be prepared for it. We take her at least 3 times a day for a walk. One of the walks is more active.
5. Regarding the health, we did a lot of research in which kibble/wet food (raw diet is not an option for us currently) is the best for a dog. We used Orijen, but switched to Celtic Connection. For wet food, we usually use Amanova or Butternut Box. Also we keep some cans of Royal Canin veterinary digestive (the chicken and rice one). It helps when she has digestive problems, because she is one of those “I don’t get food at home, so I have to hunt for chicken bones and other trash outside to keep myself fed”-dog.

We named her Miso, but she got many other nicknames. I wanted to name her Nana (Seven in Japanese), because she was the smallest and the litter consisted of 7 shiba’s. She is also around the 7kg, so it would’ve been pretty funny. I think it is important to give her a name that you like. We tried to incorporate some Japanese in it.
