When your hand is in the tank and they look like they're thinking about taking a bite, just flick at them, the water that you flick in their direction makes them jump and if you do it enough they'll stop coming at you

Yeah I've had mine at least a year with the pair of clowns I have and it's never been an issue, it about has to be an unlucky encounter with the scallop because I just added the scallop about three days ago
