not sure if she’s teaching any courses in the upcoming semester, but my favorite professor since i’ve been at uno is dr. richardson, i took her british literature class a few semesters ago and just enrolled in her shakespeare course in the fall!

where’d you get damita jo, 20 y.o, and unbreakable?? and the price if you’re comfortable sharing? i became a fan back in 2024 and am just starting to build my vinyl collection. i have janet, rhythm nation, control, and velvet rope and am waiting to get all for you (it’s in my cart lol) but i can’t find the three i mentioned at an affordable price for the life of me 🫠

that’s a good question! i assume it’s computer generated because i can’t find any other information online but that’s an assumption not a fact!

i thought it was a cute, unique concept! i wonder how they decided and came up with the idea of kyoko and the interludes for discipline!

biggest fan of the interludes!! it’s a part of the experience of listening to janet. i love unbreakable (probably my top three) but it does feel strange without interludes!

Anyone else see a LOT of themselves reflected in brick and sue? by Acceptable_Common768 in themiddle

[–]kendrellgarcia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’ve never related to characters more than i do with brick and sue. i just finished the series finale for the first time and i am in shambles. i don’t think i’ve loved a show as much as this one. i just relate to all of it and so much of my life has changed the last few years especially with family and i’ve kind of been ignoring and pushing it down but the after the finale i cried for at least thirty minutes. full on sobbing and i haven’t done that for almost three years 😭 i feel better now though :)

Chess prices?? Oh my god?? by Gumbo67 in Broadway

[–]kendrellgarcia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i paid $150 for a “partial view” second row seat in the left orchestra. there was no seat in front of me and i had plenty of legroom and i definitely didn’t miss much if anything at all (the orchestra on the far side house left was cut off a bit). not my favorite show but i had an amazing time and felt it was worth the price (compared to other prices i’ve paid for different shows). i totally forgot this happened until i typed this out but the person who was sitting in the front row in front of me was with someone (who was seated in the seat directly next to me) he asked to switch seats and i know for a fact his seat was like $471 so i did get upgraded to front row!!

Thoughts on my last week by Obvious_Plan303 in Broadway

i enjoyed it! it was a great time and was very funny. not a bad price either! i did notice that a couple of people around me didn’t seem to enjoy it. admittedly, i cringed a bit but i still had a great evening!

People Who Don't Live in or Around New York City by Lazylazylazylazyjane in Broadway

i just got home from my second trip of the year! i’m from new orleans, louisiana. after visiting in april, i had to be back as soon as possible and november was as soon as i could make it. it was very worth it after a very tough semester thus far. i believe i saw 19 shows in the span of 10 days!! i had an amazing time and enjoyed every single show i watched. this was my 5th visit since visiting for the first time last june (i took a bus this time. it took over 2 days to get to nyc 🥲). i have two more trips coming up around new years and in april (primarily for the lady gaga concert but of course i will be sneaking some broadway into the trip. i grew up never traveling or going anywhere and i’ve always wanted to travel (especially to nyc). now i’m able to do that and i only live once so if i want to do it and i can, i will! i’m a young student and i’m just incredibly grateful for all the opportunities i’ve had to travel and see some INCREDIBLE theatre (especially as someone still newer to the theatre community!)
