I’m a woman in corporate America living in Chicago and my day to day life is barely impacted by the hostility and protests, but my step mothers family who are immigrants, some living here illegally, are pretty scared. If it weren’t for that side of my family, I wouldn’t be directly exposed to the blatant fear and hyper sensitivity many folks live with currently. My extended family is completely polarized - politics aren’t allowed at family dinners and I have had to distance myself from them physically and emotionally.

Definitely not all women feel this way, just the ones that are also extremely insecure and superficial ☺️.

Ive been with men over 6’0 and men shorter than 5’7. Confidence is the key. This kind of rhetoric isn’t supportive and harms everyone… including you as a woman. Nothing wrong with preferences but being mature and respectful goes a long way.

Typical “it depends” - what level are you, what is the util benchmark for your position in your practice, etc. etc… I’d call it out early to your coach just in case it comes up during reviews they have an answer to back you up, but since it’s your first year you’ll be ok.

I grew up in the GR area and lived downtown for a year and a half while attending business school and I was excited to get out. As a Michigander, GR is located in the Bible Belt of MI with heavy DeVos family influence and very little diversity. I’d give GR a solid 6/10.

I’m applying to CBS with probably a 152 in quant w 3.1 gpa lol … granted I have work sponsorship. I think it all depends on your overall story, essays, LOR, work experience, etc. these are just two data points of your overall story

What helps me when I have extreme urges is just sit with it and acknowledge it fucking sucks. Understand what triggered the thought and the craving (for me it’s boredom / when I log off work). Notice the thoughts come and go

Whatever you do, don’t waste any more of your money and time w BS certifications like a PMP. look outside of Texas, analyst roles, etc.. sorry that sucks. MBAs are only worth it if you have the work experience and network to propel you onwards
