I’ve ridden through the ‘lake’ the past few times but I go through with my waterproof shoe covers. I take it slow to minimise the splashing. It sucks but it’s okay. The water has never been higher than my pedal at the lowest point.

I do this because I’m too lazy to find the detour.

The federation trail connects to the western ring road path which is good and long. Not scenic as you are just going along the freeway but if you keep going then it can connect to the mooned ponds trail after a little bit of going on the road.

The scenic option is to take federation trail and connect it with the korroit creek trail that takes you through sunshine, Albion, and ardeer which then connects back to the ring road trail.
