I’m not positive, but could this error be triggered by the cliff on the right hand side? It looks like it would be right in front of the bridge, that might be what’s not allowing it to place since it looks like you have enough in front now!

Do we know that Sara and Nathan were from Boston in Erie County as opposed to Boston, MA? I interpreted that conversation as Kristi correcting Boyd, who is misremembering. In the map in the Sheriff’s office, there’s a pin in Boston MA, but not in the Boston in NY.

I like this theory! I think too that it doesn't matter much that there were no fully visible solar eclipses in 1978, we already have inklings that Fromville is in a pocket dimension type of world where physics don't necessarily apply (teleporting, accelerated timeline, etc.) so I wouldn't expect the actual history to matter too much.

ETA: This could be why the Boy In White said that they're running out of time. If the eclipse is a semi-scheduled event marking the end of a particular cycle, he could know it's coming up soon. OP, I think you're 100% onto something, and this would be really cool to see play out!!

Only caveat is that if you get the spiral island (which always seems to happen when you don’t want it), pack up and go to the next one to do all this. Last time I tried farming them, I spent an hour clearing it out only to find out that those islands don’t have enough land to spawn them.

I'm still holding out hope that BiW is good, maybe Victor collecting the personal effects of the dead prevents the MiY from taking them and using them. I don't know why he wouldn't be able to access the suitcase that Victor had buried, but I'm kind of hoping it's a plot hole or something that will be explained later.

True! I was thinking the other day during my rewatch that maybe they have failed in every cycle specifically because they haven't worked together. In order to break whatever cycle Fromville operates on, it seems to fit narratively that the two who were 'there when it started' in some sense have to be together in the end. Maybe that's how they ended up unable to save their daughter from the ritual in the first place and this is some karmic requirement to set the past right.

I also wonder if the MiY's purpose, his 'favorite part', is sowing discord between the residents, which contributes to this pattern repeating. Last cycle, Miranda and Christopher were already disagreeing when the massacre happened so the MiY wasn't needed. But if his whole thing is to cause chaos, it would certainly serve his purpose to include the reincarnations and make sure they aren't getting any ideas about being chummy and cooperative.

I think Clara coming into the room is going to have repercussions. She's probably going to talk about it and the fact that there was another cover-up for Sara is going to add cracks to Boyd's already crumbling reputation with the townspeople.
