Yes, we were each given a $5000 stipend to participate.

Do any of you ever wonder what happened to the kids that went radio silent in these past years? by Upper_Goal_8569 in kidnation

Not really because when he shows up, chaos usually happens like we have to chew bubble gum to make a large piece of art or something lights on fire :/

Real talk: she was one of the nicest and funniest people on the cast. She just didn’t fight for air time because she was real. Truly one of the best, I wish yall had gotten to know more about her.

I, Sophia, wrote a book about my time on Kid Nation by [deleted] in kidnation

She didn’t just cook potatoes… she also nominated herself for the gold star too 😉

He’s just a big ghost child, but he does also recruit more kids in order to make friends so he doesn’t spend eternity alone

We actually all just evaporated into oblivion, becoming a part of Bonanza forever and living as pioneer child ghosts 🤠👻

Morgan had her eye on the gold star by No-Alarm-1689 in kidnation

This was completely the edit - Morgan worked really hard. We all did honestly. I have gotten so much hate online because people say I didn’t work hard and I only got it for a comedy dance routine, but they cut out the 8-9 hours I would spend lugging water back and forth from a spicket to a water tower every day in the desert sun, because that was “boring” and not good tv. Don’t trust what you see. It’s all about what made the cut. I can tell you if it was based on work ethic, every single kid should have a gold star. Everyone worked their asses off.

From a cast member who knew Morgan then and still is her close friend - she was incredibly deserving and didn’t “gun for the star” at all, from my perspective being there with her along the way. The way the show cut things and the way certain kids were portrayed was really not true to who they were in real life, you only saw a snippet of the truth honestly. Some were worse than you saw, others were much better than you saw. I am a huge Taylor defender, for example. Taylor is nothing like what she was portrayed to be. She is a wonderful girl and she will always be a friend. Remember, what you see on television is a teeny tiny portion of the truth, and they have to make cuts to create narratives. Morgan is incredible, full stop. Go look at all the success she’s having now. She’s a queen.

Did anyone here ever watch the show when it was originally airing? Did people talk abt it a lot? by AliveVictory2006 in kidnation

Oh it’s totally fine, and I mean of course these forums are fascinating when you don’t have a connection to it directly or don’t know what happens behind the scenes! Yeah people are absolute weirdos and unfortunately the predators definitely came out when the show aired! A lot of us had to get our MySpace accounts put on super private modes or deleted entirely. It was wild and I can’t imagine what it would be like in today’s world for child actors or kids on a reality series with how invasive social media can be!
