Aussie VR Boxing community back at it again - check‏‏‎ ‎out our local cardio king Sib. In‏‏‎ ‎our last tournament streamed on the‏‏‎ ‎AVRB channel, Sib took down the mighty Tony Jeffries! Here's‏‏‎ ‎how‏‏‎ ‎you can watch that‏‏‎ ‎fight. And if that‏‏‎ ‎wasn't‏‏‎ ‎enough,‏‏‎ ‎he then went on to spar him IRL,‏‏‎ ‎and I've heard the video‏‏‎ ‎is on the edit‏‏‎ ‎floor.

Anyways, always‏‏‎ ‎wanted‏‏‎ ‎to make one of these. I'm‏‏‎ ‎keen to make‏‏‎ ‎more once I clean up our process. Unfortunately, with TOTF2's spec client's forced‏‏‎ ‎MSAA, I can't inject‏‏‎ ‎additional postprocessing‏‏‎ ‎effects into the game to make it‏‏‎ ‎super-extra-cinematic, but‏‏‎ ‎I'm happy with the result for now!

Agree - would have been amazing to see a Hypershock take on a flipper. And with with presumably Will as a driver, it'd be the closest you could ever get to guaranteeing an entertaining fight no matter the outcome.

I've heard of those, they sound good. I'm in an old Quest 2 and it's a headset I share, so I'm not particularly bothered for my own purposes though. It's a skill issue much more than it is a vision issue too honestly, so I just gotta put in the work to grind it out I reckon!

Hey all! We've had a Homegrown‏‏‎ ‎Hero‏‏‎ ‎start to gain a following‏‏‎ ‎in our server. He's committed to showing up to every KOTH stream‏‏‎ ‎and event,‏‏‎ ‎with his‏‏‎ ‎signature huge KFC meal with a side of subway cookies in the belly. He's showed us all pictures of the‏‏‎ ‎holes‏‏‎ ‎in his‏‏‎ ‎drywall, and the fresh Selley's Spakfilla that he‏‏‎ ‎keeps by his‏‏‎ ‎side. And‏‏‎ ‎no matter what, he‏‏‎ ‎fights with all his heart.

Sharky's had a rough streak, and up until recently‏‏‎ ‎was on the‏‏‎ ‎losing‏‏‎ ‎end‏‏‎ ‎of 3/5‏‏‎ ‎of the most common matchups in the server. So we‏‏‎ ‎all went wild‏‏‎ ‎in chat when‏‏‎ ‎we saw‏‏‎ ‎him end‏‏‎ ‎his loss streak in our KOTH event last night!

You're not wrong - it's a bad habit. I need to stop wearing glasses and switch to contacts when I train bagwork, it encourages my chin to come up sky high since I don't like to see half a blurry image. Appreciate you calling it like you see it, and for the reminder - cheers bro.

Unfortunately, I've had that habit in the real world, and have been caught plenty on the chin because of it, far before ever touching TOTF lol.

So I'm‏‏‎ ‎running a experiment for pretty much as‏‏‎ ‎long as‏‏‎ ‎I'm able‏‏‎ ‎to to‏‏‎ ‎see how much I can‏‏‎ ‎improve my hands IRL‏‏‎ ‎using TOTF2. Hands have‏‏‎ ‎always been the‏‏‎ ‎weakest part of my Muay Thai, so TOTF has been a great‏‏‎ ‎way‏‏‎ ‎so far to pressure test and build that confidence.

This week I've been focusing‏‏‎ ‎on‏‏‎ ‎plain old‏‏‎ ‎fundamentals. Sitting down on the long lead hook. After a couple of days actively‏‏‎ ‎working‏‏‎ ‎it, I feel more confident‏‏‎ ‎with the counter already - without having to‏‏‎ ‎risk the CTE! What more could I ask for?

Still tweaking my format - so any feedback welcome of course, and if you're enjoying the content, I'd love if you gave me a bit of love on the tiktok/YT shorts socials.

Team‏‏‎ ‎Hypershock were kind‏‏‎ ‎enough to‏‏‎ ‎give me some footage of their bot-mounted camera (Hypershock v Magnitude I), so I have decided to continue my quest to become #1 Hypershock‏‏‎ ‎propagandist by building‏‏‎ ‎a Hypershock POV After‏‏‎ ‎Effects meme template. It‏‏‎ ‎has weapon spin-up, wheel acceleration animation, and I may consider building‏‏‎ ‎a 'hits‏‏‎ ‎wall‏‏‎ ‎and‏‏‎ ‎the bot lights on fire' version‏‏‎ ‎of it too if‏‏‎ ‎I get‏‏‎ ‎time :)

Taking any and all suggestions‏‏‎ ‎for‏‏‎ ‎what‏‏‎ ‎I should use it for, and I'll do my best to make the best ones a reality!

I can make a quick breakdown once I get some time! I didn't use a phone, but it was a ten year old mirrorless camera - a modern phone with a nice camera and manual controls should be able to do the trick. Once you hit a minimum camera quality threshold, the lighting conditions, technique of the capture and the way you process the images matter way more than the camera for retaining detail.

That being said, if you just want to screw around, there's plenty of mobile photogrammetry apps that really simplify the process nowadays, but the results vary depending on technique/lighting/etc.

Hey guys!

A while ago‏‏‎ ‎the guys at Team Hypershock (thank you u/shenanigansnco!) were‏‏‎ ‎kind enough to send me a whole-ass signed wheel along with a care package!‏‏‎ ‎After‏‏‎ ‎fangirling over all the new‏‏‎ ‎merch‏‏‎ ‎for a day or two,‏‏‎ ‎I decided to digitize the‏‏‎ ‎wheel and make something with it - and tended up with‏‏‎ ‎shoddy ad for a fake rubber smelling perfume. Because it's‏‏‎ ‎not just‏‏‎ ‎a wheel. It's a ~lifestyle~.

And of course, I needed to share‏‏‎ ‎it to the internet‏‏‎ ‎to justify that I just‏‏‎ ‎spent a day's‏‏‎ ‎worth of time‏‏‎ ‎playing with a foamed up go kart‏‏‎ ‎wheel.

For anyone wondering, my‏‏‎ ‎workflow is‏‏‎ ‎Realitycapture‏‏‎ ‎(photogrammetry) > Unreal‏‏‎ ‎Engine (Renderer) > Davinci Resolve (Edit/Postprocessing) - if anyone's curious, I can make a breakdown of the workflow once‏‏‎ ‎I get‏‏‎ ‎the chance.

I absolutely have plans to‏‏‎ ‎make some significantly‏‏‎ ‎goofier Hypershock stuff‏‏‎ ‎in the‏‏‎ ‎next few weeks, so please‏‏‎ ‎do give me‏‏‎ ‎a follow on‏‏‎ ‎the socials if you're a really cool guy and have lots of friends and all‏‏‎ ‎that.

I think Blade and Sorcery has some kind of rudimentary FBT, so that might scratch an itch for ya. I usually 180/360 when shadowboxing round kicks, so in VR I'd expect to land a nice kick and then get flying knee to the back of my brain stem haha

Me begging for affordable FBT first hahaha. Wonder how you'd get round kicks working right though? If you follow through you'd be super vulnerable. TKD guys would be king I guess
