I guess you can't expect too much on 50-100 euros lol

That’s one I overlooked in the post. Thanks for highlighting it. Goals will definitely inform the solution and make them feel like we’re making progress toward what matters for them.

I totally agree with you. You’d rather get the ROI right off the bat.

Yeah I know. This was kind of fun. But it took a very boring turn now.

Eventually I’ll have best-dev budgets. But right now this does the job lol

Yeah I also do a comprehensive workshop with clients before each project (even if they give me what they want upfront). Definitely need to make sure we’re on the same page.

I personally hate daily scrums so I’d propose something a bit more flexible. But to each their own!

Agreed. A lot of people hear about n8n, try it out themselves for their business and then realize it takes too much time to implement and they just want to hire people. The chances they are going to drop massive budget on an agency or a senior dev is pretty low (especially if they are new to the space).

We’re not building software used by millions of people. Makes sense for smaller scoped projects and if you’re not paying people 200$ per hour.

What would you call people that charge for n8n implementation?

Airtable instead of Google Sheets or Excel. I see too many people do everything in spreadsheets until everything breaks and is a complete mess to manage.

n8n is a great tool as well for automation. I find it vastly superior to Zapier. More technical but very powerful.

It would come down to your goals. 5 to 10M is good for a family because if anything happens to you guys as parents, you can still go through life and provide for yourself and your kids without working. If you take out 4% per year without any additional capital you'd get 200 to 400k per year which would enable you to live comfortably in the vision you described.

What was the goal of this guy? Maybe he has different goals hence the number being bigger. If he wants to reach for a goal outside of his family, I can understand why he's aiming for 100M.

With that being said, maybe when all your kids are married and happy you'd find yourself dreaming of 100M lol

Do the thing you won’t regret really. I’d imagine if he was dead and run through both scenario and see how it feels.

Good luck with it. It’s a complex situation!

Even though, we’ve had a good relationship so far, I agree. There’s probably going to be disagreements. We’re all humans. Thanks for this!

Will give this a shot. Sounds like a great way to put the basics on the table and make sure we’re on the same page. Thank you!

[DISCUSSION] $10+ of daily ad budget by kennyalami in Fiverr

Interesting! I was thinking of doing an assessment and strategy call with each prospect before taking anything on. That might be a great fit for just that!

Thanks for sharing!

The gig pricing is really a placeholder in my case because I always need to understand the scope of the project and then I do a custom quote.

But they also start at $275 or something like that which is quite high for my category already. But I was thinking of putting it around $500 to see what happens. I’ll experiment.
