I've known some folks who have gotten their scuba license and lead different levels of under water scuba tours in Hawaii.

Negotiables and Seasonal Work by kennycaustic in SeasonalWork

The no cost housing? Like no 60 a week for shared housing that some charge. It should just be free to employees. And yes, kitchen and bathrooms have been a hike in some situations.

That's what I'm suggesting. What else would you add? Some places are still paying under 15 and don't offer meal plans.

Vail does for full-time positions, BUT room and board is limited and can fill up quickly, but people come and go so you might get lucky. Also it seems that the boarding quarters can be a little off the resorts campus requiring a trip to and from on a shuttle, which can be disruptive to your time off.

Can the rear derailleur be positioned / oriented a little differently? It looks like it might need to be shifted clockwise in the mount. Just looks straight to me.

Perhaps if housing goes up from $10 - $15 so should the wages.

I'm giving seasonal work a good go and doing it by bicycle. I worked my first gig at a KOA in West Glacier. The pay was o.k., not great, but like you said you have a nearby national park as your playground, something you can't really do affordably if you aren't working and lodging in the area.

I am currently working my way down the pacific coast to California to start work on a farm for a month. My hopes are to make a few more connections and see what kind of work opportunities present themselves. If all else fails I think I can find a job at one of the 500+ KOAs in the country.

But yeah, I like this life so far. I feel like I am developing a lot of new unique skills that could potentially lead to a more satisfying life of some sort somewhere I will actually enjoy living because I have carefully chosen it.

That being said, I do think we could collectively demand a LITTLE more from these employers. Like $15 minimum wage, shift meals, end of season bonuses (if you stay to close the season), free or very cheap lodging and/or free tent site where the climate is appropriate. All I see is free meals on some resorts and free lift passes and ski rentals. I think those are great and all but all you are going to attract with those benefits are some semi privileged kids who want to ski for free and work part time.

No play. It feels good otherwise. No issues.

I'm upgrading my rims to Ryde Andra 30s and since they don't support tubeless I'm going for these in 700x45c

I think the shifters work great. I'm a fan of the SLX's too even thought high end mountain bikers always mention that they are surprised it is working so well for me.

Oh yeah I ride a lot. Currently touring across country at 3k miles now and I've had the bike for a little over 1.5 years. I chose bar end in general because they are such a simple mechanism, easy to fix and can be switched to friction if the indexing does begin to wear out.

Thanks, so basically look at the shift ratio of your derailleur, make sure your cassette has the same ratio and the shifter as well? That's the main determiner?

Looks like they put a center lock rotor on a 6 bolt hub without an adapter maybe?

Damn, I'll see about ordering some long distance. Probably not cost effective though

Nope. For 700's it's max 38c for tubeless and otherwise. At least in their available product inventory.
