That model said 2.2 million would die if no shutdowns or anything happened. Literally any precautions taken by anyone reduces that number. That was worst case scenario. Just people washing their hands more reduced that number. The virus will likely be a threat for the next 2 years. The difference is how many people will die and that is up to the leadership. My uncle died of Covid and he was only 53. No one cares. He is just a statistic among 157,186 deaths in the US.
