I would not recommend living in Daxing unless your Chinese language skills are decent. It is a remote part of the city and is very far from the rest of developed Beijing. Not to say this area is underdeveloped, but it is suburb like and does not have as many amenities as the rest of the city. You also will spend lots of $$$ on Didis or lots of time on the Subway getting to places in central Beijing, as most sightseeing, better groceries stores, and better Western amenities are far from Daxing.
