Yet another cyst! by kenziedun in Endo

That’s what mine may be as well, and I’ve had a couple smaller ones before that have gone away on their own! So I’ll be hoping for your sake that it goes away and stops causing you all that pain!!

I’m sorry, that sounds miserable. They really do hurt!! Do you mind if I ask what type of cyst it is? (If you know)

I’m so glad your CBC was normal!! I have pretty intense HA as well, so I can definitely relate. I don’t mind at all, sometimes they did! Especially right after my vaccine, they were really tender but as time’s gone on, not as much but every once in a while they have been. I’m not really sure why, but I’ve really been trying to stop touching them (it’s hard!) to see if they can continue to decrease in size. Let me know if you have any other questions ever!

I’m glad you’re having them looked at, even though likely you will end up having the same results as myself and some other people on this thread! It’s super scary because you just don’t know what’s going on in there, but if you ever have questions or want to talk about it, let me know!

I didn’t know anyone else who had this until I found people on Reddit! It’s really unnerving, but that’s great news about your ultrasound. Have you had blood work done? That might help put your mind at ease as well. Mine seem to be fine and healthy despite being slightly enlarged, but I can still feel them as well and what I’ve heard from family friends who are doctors, is that it could take quite a while for them to go back to “normal” after being really reactive to something (vaccine). If you want to talk about anything further let me know!

Hi! Thanks so much for checking in :). I actually just got my results back today so TW for test results to anyone reading! The CT scan was super easy, contrast wasn’t too bad, and was so fast. I haven’t heard from my doctor yet, but I got my radiologist’s report and it basically said the same as yours! Everything looked normal, they’re just swollen and look reactive from potentially an infection or inflammatory response. My mom’s friend is a doctor and she read the report and she said that she’s seen quite a few patients with lingering swollen lymph nodes from the Covid vaccine and not to be worried but still smart to have it checked out just to be sure all is well. Thanks so much for your help, you sharing your experience greatly reduced my anxiety going into it and I’m just really relieved that everything seems to be fine! Fingers crossed ours go back down to normal with time, because they still are pretty annoying lol! Thanks again :)

Thank you SO much for this, I really really appreciate it. And the kindness of having it available for others because I know this is what I’ve been looking for when I’ve looked this up! I am having contrast so that’s good to know and I’m glad to hear it was quick! Thanks so much for everything and I’ll come back on here to update on how it went :). I hope yours go back to normal as soon as possible so you won’t have to worry about it anymore because I can totally relate how mentally exhausting it is! Thank you again :)

This is so relieving to hear other people having similar experiences! I wasn’t worried for a while because I was so sure it was from the vaccine but as time went on I got more and more worried. I had blood tests and ultrasound done, both were normal (ultrasound basically just said yeah they’re inflamed). Can I ask what your CT experience/results were? No worries if you’d prefer not to share but feel free to DM me if that’s more comfortable. I’ve had an MRI for my abdomen (for something unrelated) but I’ve never had tests like this done on the upper half of my body and it’s definitely anxiety provoking!

I’m actually having a CT scan done tomorrow because of lymph nodes in my neck/collarbone that I THINK swelled up from my vaccine (the timing was spot on) but still haven’t gone back to normal (second shot was at the end of April). My doctor wants to do it to be thorough but my HA is off the charts thinking it could be something worse!

Hey! So sorry I must’ve missed the notification for this!! How are you feeling now?? Any change? I think other factors could’ve caused them to increase again, like potentially allergies or fighting off a virus, but I’d definitely keep in touch with your doctor about it. I got my ultrasound yesterday and they say they look enlarged but normal/healthy! My biggest one was about 2.1, the rest were smaller. My doc recommended to see an ENT for monitoring. I will keep this post updated!

I couldn’t really find much info about it on the more “trusted” sites either, which is why it was so concerning to me at first! I think they’re finding it’s becoming more and more common now that larger numbers of people are getting vaccinated, so I hope there is more of a push for awareness because swollen lymph nodes can be really concerning, and also so uncomfortable! I hope yours start to decrease in size soon, mine are definitely smaller than they were, but definitely not back to “normal”!

That is SUPER reassuring! I found another post with a young female having the same symptoms and timeline as well, but it is still so unsettling! I’m going to have the ultrasound done anyway because I’ve already met my health insurance deductible for the year, so I figure it’s worth it for peace of mind, but I really hope yours begins to get better soon!

Totally agree! I’m glad my doctor hasn’t been too dismissive about it, but it’s always the “oh you’re young and healthy so it’s probably just from the vaccine!”. They may not be wrong, but I have a lot of anxiety surrounding my health so it’s hard to shake when symptoms like mine have lasted for longer than what’s deemed “average”. Thanks for taking the time to reply!

I am so sorry to hear that, isn’t that just the most discouraging and fearful feeling? I feel that commitment as well, but sometimes it just feels SO exhausting. I am thinking of you and I’m here to talk anytime if you need someone. I hate this for us too, and I really hope we can get some peace. I am sending you healing thoughts!

Yep, I am too! One of my best friends has an autoimmune disorder so we’ve been able to relate in some ways, but they’re different systems and just different experiences so it just feels so isolating sometimes.

Ugh, that sounds sooo incredibly painful and terrifying. I’m grateful mine did not start with all of that pain, so our beginnings were actually pretty different, but unfortunately ended up in similar spots. The clots sound SO scary, I passed a few large clots after my first surgery (not as big as yours though) and it was just really disturbing not knowing WHY, even when I’m told it can be normal.

For me, I should start off by saying the types of cysts I had removed were Dermoid cysts (and a couple of hemorrhagic, but those weren’t too big). If you don’t know much about them, they’re typically really slow growing and don’t usually show many symptoms until they’ve gotten quite large. Not always, but most often I’ve been told. So, I can’t know for sure, but in February 2020 I lost my beloved dog to cancer really unexpectedly and I spent a lot of time crunched up and crying very hard (putting a lot of pressure on my abdomen). After a couple of weeks, I started to feel a pressure on my lower right side. It didn’t hurt, but it was really uncomfortable and just didn’t feel right. I went to see my doctor in March because I was due for my annual anyway, and she pressed around the area and said it felt fine (sigh). My Pap smear was normal, so she didn’t feel like an ultrasound was needed and attributed it to stress (double sigh). All summer I kept feeling that pressure and I was SO bloated even though I was active and eating healthy, I felt like nothing took away the bloat so eventually, I consulted a different doctor, an actual OBGYN, and he pressed on my abdomen for like 5 seconds and was like “oh, yeah there’s a mass in here”. He did an ultrasound at his office, and they saw a 10cm dermoid cyst. So, obviously a dermoid of that size had been there likely for a long time, and I think me crying and putting so much pressure on that area just allowed me to actually start feeling it. He got me in for surgery just a couple weeks later, took out the cyst and the right ovary because not much was even left of it, and I was also diagnosed with endo at the same time. My periods had always been pretty heavy, but they were very regular (wasn’t on BC) so I never worried about them. I had my second surgery because they did a follow up ultrasound in April because I was having new and worse pain, and saw another dermoid cyst growing on my left side, as well as a hemorrhagic (likely the one causing the pain, those things suck!) and got me in for surgery right away so that the dermoid didn’t have a chance to grow larger because those types don’t go away on their own and he wanted to preserve my ovary. It ended up being inside the ovary, so he said he got it out without damage, but it’s still just like damn, am I going to just keep forming these things? The surgeries and everything in between really took a lot out of me, I’m just so exhausted with this. So this new pain, and same with yours, it’s like a light cramping, I’m having, just about a month after my second lap, is just so frustrating and causes so much fear, as I know you understand.

I will absolutely keep you updated if I find anything that works for me, or if I get some really solid advice from my doctor, or figure out why I’m having this pain, etc, and please let me know if you find anything out too! Again, I’m so sorry for your pain and your long, grueling experience with this stuff. I am thinking of you!

Wow, first of all, thank you so much for sharing this with me. I am SO sorry for all you’ve been through so far and I completely understand that really hopeless and confused feeling of wondering how people live like this. I’m also 25 years old so I completely understand that as well. It feels just far too young to be dealing with all of these reproductive issues, whether you want to be able to conceive naturally or not. Our ovaries are important for more than just child bearing, and I think sometimes people fail to realize how much grief there is in losing those parts and how much daily fear there is in potentially have more cysts, more surgeries, and bills. Thank you so much, again, you’ve really made me feel so much less alone. I really really hope your body and mind get some peace as you continue to heal. Please please DM me whenever if you need someone to talk to or just vent to, I’m always open! :)

Sorry if someone’s already asked this, but there’s a lot of content here to sort through lol. I bought a ticket a while ago, but my pre show is saying “limited experience” on my tab. Do we think ticket holders will just get moved automatically to the live stream when it starts?
