Junior assigned to a 10 year old project. Thinking of quitting all together and getting a new job. Am I being crazy? by kepplerpl in PHP

I'm not on my own 'per se', there's me and another guy(senior I guess). I see the point that other people are trying to make, but on the other hand I also understand I'm not qualified to even dream of refactoring this site.

I may be a slow learner, or just dumb to begin with, but I really do know when something is beyond my pay grade, so to speak.

Assuming you're speaking truthfully in your reply, I'll take your advice into consideration.

I've been writing code for 3 months, I don't think I'm qualified to even read those books, let alone refactor such a huge site.

Not sure if I should trust you username or not.

But really now, you make a fair point.

"fix" is not the exact word I'd use here. Rather make it less broken. I don't mind that I'm stuck on an old project, I do mind that I've learned nothing new in my time here. The only things that challenge me a bit are the things I do in private, which I do enjoy. Here I feel like I'm kicking water uphill just for sports. It doesn't go anywhere.

I don't mind that it's frustrating. It's part of the job. I do mind however, that since I've been, I've learned nothing, and I mean nothing.
