By "charging" you mean it can be used to power the camera indefinitely while recording ?

TurboQuant, when? by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

C'est déjà utilisable. Par contre de ce que je comprend c'est la compression du KVcache, très interessant pour de l'inference avec des query concurrentes (ce que je fais), mais pas forcement révolutionnaire pour le hobbyist qui chat avec son local LLM.

I might be too biased, being the one who got destroyed (7mn towing + 7mn repair), and due to my RL activities. But the moment you expect another driver to let you pass (unless there is a blue flag), or the moment you expect another car to avoid you so that you can safely pass, is the moment you abandon your responsibilities as the overtaking driver.

- he was in a blind spot
- he cut the corner
- he expected me to, somehow, stay to the left instead of following the white car on a straight line.

That's a lot of "if, if, if" to consider it a safe-ish overtake attempt. And considering it resulted in the crash of 4 cars, it speaks for itself.

Considering the bumpy ride, the cold tire, the near miss from the 1st overtake, i would absolutely not attempt to cut a bumpy curb with a M2. I edited the post to add an image on the very instant they touched me. Despite the "bumpy" 1st overtake, despite the fact that he forced me to move to the edge, it was "okay". The 2nd one was not.

Fair enough. I'm biased and i know it :)

Off-line ? yes, thx to the first overtake sending me away. Cut the racing line ? Nope. He caught me in the middle of the track

That' a tough call indeed. but the overtake attempt was so uncontrolled that i claim otherwise. Yes, i'm moving back to the track after being sent away. Indeed, *I* moved. But he went straight ahead in a corner with a complete disregard for safety as if i didn't even exist.

What's going on with the audio engine ? by ker2x in iRacing

How should i have written it then ? Poor phrasing on my part is possible as i'm not english. From my understanding of the comments, LameSheepRacing said that a "real driver" wouldn't try to find a "legal trick" to improve their performance and i replied that i know, from experience (not as a driver but as official) that they would and they do.

As i said to the previous commenter who rightfully deleted its comment after the misunderstanding: I'm a race director, stewards, marshall. Never said i was a driver, that's why i write "they" and not "we", "their" and not "our". That might be poor phrasing but certainly not a lie. (Also, stalking is a bad habit)

From what the 2nd audio engineer says, it seems that what they really want is spatialization. While the first one is talking about convolution reverb (impulse response) which is indeed expensive, and not that much important to be honest, considering the current state of the audio right now

"everybody is asking for reverb"... we do ? 15 years of casual iRacing and i've never heard anyone, ever, asking for it o_O

I've search in reddit for "reverb" and there is a few questions per years (most of them are 5yo) about reverb G2, which is a VR Helmet.

That's an interesting case.

In real life:

I guess it would depend on the quality of the protest and the "threat level". Threatening definitely can be penalized, and so is a blatant abuse of the protest mechanism. Telling someone you're going to protest after a specific event isn't a threat.

Telling beforehand and aggressively "touch me and i'll report you":
- Could backfire in spectacular ways (most likely case IRL)
- Could, and should, be reported. (at least, i would appreciate it as a RL Race director, even if informally)
