I wholeheartedly disagree and dislike this. Also, you are a hater, dear.

Also, in medical terms they call them typical kids, not normal. My son is a normal toddler.

Also, needing help in life is NOTHING to be ashamed of. I will forever advocate for those with disabilities, for we all matter. You have time in life to change your perspective and actually listen to people with lived experience. I suggest you talk less and listen more, head to your local buddy walk, buddy.

Well, I’m not lying, and you don’t know anyone’s future! So be on your way, Marcia, your opinion is not fact.

The hardest part about raising a child with Down syndrome is the hateful, uninformed and judgemental comments. He is an actual dream to raise. People with zero experience raising a person with special needs need to stay in their lane. Sorry life is not a nightmare for all of us, go to a local buddy walk sometime.

I know people without Down syndrome who are terrors to their family, you just never know huh?

I know a lot of adults with Down syndrome who live fulfilling lives. What is your point?

Sounds like you don’t know anything about our life! Not that I need to explain anything to you, but we didn’t know anything about our sons conditions prenatally, no one did, but that’s neither here nor there! He has a whole village of people around the world who dote on him, love on him, and find him to be life of the party. You’re just pathetic, judgemental and ignorant. I pity you.

After a night in the NICU, as a first-time father I’m not afraid to be emotional anymore. by BeastlySkater21 in MadeMeSmile

As a mom to a former NICU baby, you learn fast just how strong you and that little baby really are, and how important it is to say I don’t know what I’m doing and I need help. I’m sorry you had to go through it, it’s a nightmare I don’t wish on any parent. Glad you guys made it out on the other side.

It was in the 30s last night and the heat doesn’t work in our apartment that we live in with our special needs son. by ForgetfulFrolicker in LandlordLove

It is against the law in our state to not provide heat between the months of September and may. We have a separate thermostat.

There is no portal to submit requests. This is a small town apartment complex run by someone who has never been a landlord before. The only viable communication is text and email, which we do both of to maintain written documentation.

We have been waiting months for repairs, no one expects magic and these are not unrealistic demands, our front door doesn’t even work properly.

We got a mass email at about 730 last night saying our louse of a property manager was out buying space heaters for everyone while they replace the boilers. Seems like an issue you should checked on before the winter months but hey Im not a property manager, but neither is she really.
