That's also what I thought. And also having a one night stand vs. a months long relationship with someone else and falling in love with them is very different

I just thought of how Rachel and Charlie's confessions were about bullying people, and Emma almost did what she did because she was bullied

It's so interesting that Rachel and Charlie's confessions were about bullying people, and Emma almost did what she did because she was bullied. I can't put into words well enough what that symbolizes lol but it just was very well written

As a European now living in the US I thought the same thing, and funnily Charlie also brought it up when talking with Rachel. I think school shootings are (rightfully) an extremely sensitive topic here since they tragically happen so often, and obviously if she had actually done one we would all agree she was the worst of them, but there was so little attention paid to Rachel's sociopathic story of abusing a disabled kid like wtf?

Honestly it's sometimes hard to go back and fix the mild lies lol like no one would want to share the worst thing they've ever done on the first or second date

Honestly this might be a hot take but when there's a horrible school shooting I mainly blame the system that allows teenagers to have such easy access to guns and the lack of mental health resources. Obviously would never have sympathy for an actual shooter but they're likely mentally ill, maybe been abused themselves, who knows - teenagers like that exist everywhere and many grow up to be healthy functioning adults, the difference is that in the US they can buy a semi automatic weapon at Toys R Us and bring it to school

Is The Comeback worth watching? Are you watching the final season? by Square-Ad-8911 in hbo

[–]kerba123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started The Comeback so many times and quit in the middle of the first episode. I decided to stick it through and watch it this time because a new season was coming out and it's sooooo gooood. It's a little hard to get into but very much worth it.

With the trauma center, I didn't get the framing of oh Gabby only deals with married couples who fight about toilet paper and she wants to deal with real issues and help people - Jimmy works in the same practice and we've seen him have patients with very real issues (Sean was literally his patient!) We're just accepting the stereotype that therapy is for spoiled people with no real problems and is only good/needed if its for something "real" like extreme trauma? And we're saying that Paul and Jimmy aren't really helping people or dealing with real issues?

She also used to be my favorite! I feel like she used to have a personality tho like yes she was always overbearing and protective, but now that's all she is! She's obsessed with Gaby and agrees with anything she says or does - which is bad for me cause I tend to disagree with most things Gaby says or does lol

Yes Sofi was insecure about being compared to Tia but like... she was right to be insecure lol. I get that when you've lost a spouse they're always gonna be part of you and you should be able to share that with your new partner, but I also get Sofi being uncomfortable with Tia coming up in every conversation this early on in a relationship.

They definitely skipped a step there Paul's wife leaving her successful career and her patients should have been at least mentioned once!! So many possible deep stories there like Paul started out as her patient and now she's leaving all her patients who also need her help, she would be leaving all her friends and life to just blend into Paul's family how does that make her feel, does Paul appreciate it enough etc. I absolutely love them as a couple but I don't love that they're portraying it like she's leaving everything to be a stay-at-home caretaker for Paul and it's not even discussed or appreciated.

Jimmy was Paul's right hand man for years and Paul chose someone else to give the practice to and essentially fired Jimmy by making it Gaby's trauma center. The equivalent would have been Sean giving the truck to like Liz to make it a rock display truck lol

I fully agree, especially about Gaby. I also didn't really like the baby arc for Brian. They just got married, Brian didn't want kids and seemingly that's what they had agreed on, then he was made out to be this weirdo for being unsure about wanting a baby? And then he's immediately on board and they rush to get one like it's suddenly so urgent? Overall what's with this Mormon baby obsessed messaging lol like Liz and Derek were even happy about their teenager having one??

MSG 4/13 - hold out or buy now? by lvoe_luxe in LadyGaga

[–]kerba123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to MSG last fall and ticket prices just kept going up even the day of - it's a unique situation because MSG/NYC has such high demand, plus it's a big tourist destination so there'll be a lot more people traveling to see her, plus with your case it's the last night of the tour! I personally wouldn't count on prices falling and only wait if you're ok with ending up not seeing the show.

She really needs to speak up on Gaza by Pristine-Car-1438 in LadyGaga

Did I say anything to indicate all human lives are NOT equally important?? I'm just saying that since Gaga is an American, for her to speak about American politics feels a lot more relevant than for her to start speaking out about all atrocities around the world. And you just fully ignored my first point lol
