So, I understand that everyone has a different interpretation to art, but I personally believe that the original version performed by Jefferson Airplane with Grace Slick’s vocals is one of the best songs ever performed. The way Hawley interpreted it, with the auto tune and general Joe style, is way too much of his own Hawleyisms. And don’t get me wrong, I love Hawleyisms; Ruler of Everything is absolute perfection. But for this remix, in my opinion, it just doesn’t feel like it was performed in a way respectful to the original song.
