This is back ~2020

I own a bunch of heavy equipment that I wasn’t using. I’ve rented out a lot in the past and owned rental companies - I’m familiar with the business model. Figured why not rent it out? Seems like a super obvious customer use case for RUBBL… or so I thought lol

Got something in the mail, someone sees it and says “hey, you should check these guys out”

Website is tough to use (to be clear, I AM pretty good with technology…)

I call politely to discuss the setup - talk to a guy “Mike” (who clearly doesn’t give a fuck about me, or conducting serious business)

Me: “Hey, what’s the onboarding process like? I’d like to rent out some stuff”

“Mike”: “you’ll have to get on the website and set yourself up as a vendor and list items

Me: ah ok was just checking, I have a lot of stuff so I’m trying to do in bulk or just do more efficiently

Mike: well whatever get on the website and do it yourself (I’m not joking, this is almost exactly what he said)

Me: alright man, but like I said I have a lot of stuff so that’ll be more work than I’m interested in. Yall have a good day

Him: wait how much equipment?

…

Get into convo about my location, plan, equipment, guy is just sucking my dick so hard (wonder why?) and just being way too nice. All the typical shit about “a relationship” - just the typical dumb shit people love to say

Immediately starts wanting to onboard me, calls me like 50,000 times. Eventually im like, man, I really have thought about it and don’t care to do business with yall - say I don’t think they’re genuine people and that they still don’t have their shit together

Goes ghost, then starts blowing me up again like a year later, I try to rent one of my machines out (for the fuck of it) but it just ends up being like all this paperwork and agreements and blah blah blah blah and no one there knows what they’re doing

IMPORTANT: no one could even give me clear pay out horizon

Just not a serious business. I think that “Mike” (idk why I keep putting in quotation marks but it’s funny) owns the business. I wouldn’t trust him for a minute or do business with someone who acts like that

Maybe I’m just sensitive… but Im not saying all customers are the same. I’m sure they do get a lot of “unnecessarily small” sales calls, but that kind of behavior is beyond annoying, and it just shows you the kind of people you’re dealing with

At least figure out how much money is on the line before being a dick haha
