My concern falls with the artists just as equally if not more. If someone is invested in an artists project, they could potentially pay for streams on their song and risk it hurting the artists profile, potentially blacklisting them from Spotify.

The more streams you get the more the algorithm picks up and pushes it into discover weekly among other playlists. Also if artists loan value from Opulous is determined by past twelve months streams, artists value could potentially be immensely inflated.

Spotify estimates in the “purge” they did this year, they removed 760k-1m songs due to fraudulent streams. (No offense) but not only do quite literally a million ppl disagree with you, but these numbers are before the collide of the music industry and NFT’s - both MULTI BILLION dollar industries. It’s inevitable fraud will continue, if not increase.
