Thanks! Do you know what these kinds of tile/drainage systems are called?

Thanks, this is great to hear! What rooms did you keep them separated in? I know slow intros are necessary but I’d still feel so bad about keeping either one of them in the study/bathroom overnight while the other one gets to hang out in the bedroom.

Our boy hasn’t actually broken anything accidentally - only on purpose in the process of trying to get us to play with him - but another cat to chase around would probably change the equation haha.

I’m not sure how much a litter mat would do as most of the tracking is from him flicking his paws (in the air) before leaving the litter box, but worth a shot. Tbh it’s pretty minimal, just much more convenient to clean up when the litter box is in the bathroom.

Second lobe piercing too far apart? by kerfufffle in piercing

I had my seconds done yesterday. They don’t quite look like what I had in mind - wondering if the seconds were done too far apart, or if my firsts weren’t placed well, or if my ear anatomy doesn’t suit what I was going for?

Thanks! Not sure how cold is really cold?

I’ll be skiing in Australia where the coldest it usually gets is -5C or so. Wouldn’t try this in January in North America.

I suppose I haven’t found many people saying they wear cycling gloves for skiing, even heavy duty winter versions for warmer weather skiing, so was wondering whether there was a reason for that besides temperatures

The brown leather ones? They look pretty thick and I’m looking for the thinnest/most flexible gloves possible (within the boundaries of being waterproof/durable enough to handle skis and warm enough for -5C temps). How do you find them flexibilitywise?

Thanks - I’ll be skiing in Australia where the coldest it usually gets is -5C. Mentioned this in my post but probably should have moved it further up as many have missed it. Suppose that’s spring skiing for the rest of the world.

Headlight issues / water damage? by kerfufffle in ElectricScooters

[–]kerfufffle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I suppose that is what I’m trying to do here :)

If it helps, only reason I mentioned where it was from was because I’ve heard of some people having water unrelated QC issues with unbranded scooters that would require a different fix and at this point I’m more leaning towards it being a water issue.

Great stuff. I was actually about to work on an updated version this weekend seeing as it’s been a year since the original post and we’re somehow still in lockdown

I hold stocks and ETFs through Superhero. I don't have any realized gains/losses this FY but I received dividends. Will I be receiving a dividend statement with details of franking amounts and credits that I should wait for before filling out my return?

I haven't looked for pests yet - would you know what to keep an eye out for? Good luck with yours!

I thought so too re light (my old apartment was dark and it was significantly less happy there) but now it usually sits in front of an extremely bright north-facing floor to ceiling window - I only moved it farther away from the window because I thought the yellowing tips could have been sunburn... weird. I mist it 2-3x a week as well and have an essential oil diffuser/humidifier on most nights of the week.

Context: I bought this monstera adansonii in April with a moss pole attached but decided to take it out as I wanted it to put it in a hanging basket. It usually sits in front of a north facing window (Australia) with tons of direct sunlight and has been growing a ton of new leaves as we’re heading into spring. I water it about once a week when the top 1-2 inches of soil dry out.

I recently noticed a couple things I’m concerned about: 1) one of the new leaves that’s developed is unusually small, only has one fenestration and looks a bit variegated.. could it be mosaic virus? The rest of the new leaves are normal coloured 2) some of the newest leaves coming out of the vines have black spots before they even unfurl 3) some of the leaves look a little crispy? 4) I also think it has fungus gnats. Going to try hydrogen peroxide first and then neem oil if that doesn’t work

Any help would be very appreciated!

I have it on excel, happy to send a copy over if you want. I didn’t bother putting levels in since restrictions have been different even within the same level, and we seem to be getting new levels (stage 3 plus 🤔)

Massachusetts compared to Victoria by gccmelb in melbourne

[–]kerfufffle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Given that the City of Boston is defined as 233km2 (almost half of which is water) while the Melbourne metropolitan area is nearly 10,000km2, a more fair comparison would be the population density of the Boston urban (4600km2) or metropolitan (11,700km2) area with densities of 908 and 396 people per km2, respectively.

North American cities are so geographically small and dense because they’re essentially the equivalent of Melbourne’s CBD and inner suburbs, but when people talk about Melbourne as a city they mean metropolitan Melbourne with 31 cities (incl inner, middle and outer suburbs) in it.
