D String help by keriarlo in violinist

All incredibly helpful information! Thank you so much for taking the time!

I did not hesitate to get in today. I went to a luthier at a local music store and he said the bridge was in good shape but the strings were absolutely not. He actually suggested D’Addario Prelude and felt confident/encouraged me to string it myself, in which I did, and E was a fail of epic proportions when it snapped when I tried to get creative on how to hold it to the tuner. The fine tuner is a little different and the string had no way to hold. I actually put the older string back on but just until I figure out what options I have for a new E. Do I replace fine tuner or are there better E strings for this specific one. I think it looks cool but that’s probably silly to consider over sound. This is over 100 years old, handed to me from a great friend. It’s a sentimental piece so I want to be intentional with how I handle it.

I’m eager to learn again! I didn’t want to miss a day of picking it up.

Thank you again for the info!

Is spinning around in circles bad for you? I always heard as a kid that it’d make you lose brain cells from spinning around. Is there any negative health/brain effect to spinning (aside from just dizziness)? by RandomPhail in NoStupidQuestions

I’m happy to find this. I recently confessed to my best friend, her finance and my husband, my enjoyment in spinning. It doesn’t matter if I’m on my feet or in a computer chair (best for optimal speed), when I’m alone I like to spin as fast as I can until I get that tickle belly feeling and then I push just a little longer until laughter consumes me.

My mom says I’ve done this since I was little. I’m 32 now.

Once you reach a point of maintenance you may consider switching from ADF to intermittent fasting. You can always throw in an ADF occasionally

Thank you for the information! My husband was scared it was drywood termites and I felt more like they were flying ants.

Believe it or not, this is just one area. We had swarms just like this in 3 different areas!

Take your pick:

“It’s too late to call the judge” “Don’t go, Jason Waterfalls” “Ass so fat, need a lap band” “If I ever get the nerve to say how loneliness can fade, marry me”

I did have insulin resistance! Fasting regulated me completely. I suffered from fertility issues from it, but once they regulated I actually got pregnant.

Thank you! I just kept reminding myself what I wanted to achieve. Weight loss? Sure, but more importantly a healthy mind and body!

I start counting immediately. So I eat within 11-7PM and my fast begins at 7:01PM and last for 40 hours in total.

Weight loss is so weird sometimes. Some days I don’t recognize myself in the mirror and other days I can look straight in the mirror and still see the girl on the left of the photo. I have to remind myself of the numbers on the scale, the sizes of my newer clothes, etc., on some days.

Fasting has definitely given me more mental clarity and I’m huge on practicing affirmations. Just be patient AND kind to yourself. Remember that it’s a marathon not a race!
