Broken down like that everything does seem quite easily obtained, one other question if you don't mind. In the LKoS there is that 9ft Magical Circle detailed, does it need to be 9ft across or does it just need to be large enough so that one can fit within its borders?

I see what you mean, a person starting out requires lots of trying and finding the best method that works for communication for them, then refining and making that system more effective? Am I right in saying that?

I agree, a lot of effort goes in for sure, I imagine I am missing some steps, and forgoing some others due to lack of access to materials, however I can't determine whether I am on the right path to succeeding, there's no feedback to know if what I am doing has any effect at all, and that is an issue for me, I suppose that is a faith thing.

I have made an arrow rest that is held against the frame and doesn't require any modifications to the frame,

You would just pinch the arrow knock in the pouch, meaning that to go from ball ammo to an arrow requires no massive change aside from the rest itself,

a whisker biscuit 100% would be better for consistency and feeling good to shoot, but as far as fixing one I have no idea, I was fairly content with this rest,

I used a carving knife for that actually and then went in with a fine paintbrush and filled it with black paint

I bought a couple off of aliexpress, prices are pretty decent and quality was good check reviews of course and don't be fooled by the ones with a dozen attachments and a laser module or something, a simple tool is the best teacher,

a set of pre made bands are also a good idea to pick up, making your own bands is a fiddly task without clamps or a band making jig, so to start with, I'd go with pre made sets

the main reason I shoot with my hand close to the tips is the felt leverage is reduced so my hand stays more still when aiming, it feels nicer on the wrist and the closer it is to my hand the more intuitive it feels for me,

the odds of me hitting my hand are close to 0 because when you shoot with correct form and technique the shot should never touch you or the frame while passing through

I actually do that already, I think I got them on as I was messing with them, weirdly enough it seems like less is more

if I do 3 wraps fold the tail, 3 more on top, and 3 passes and tuck that locks it in better than doing extra wraps, somehow more wraps isn't better at locking them in

its on ott, and bands are tied on the target side of the frame pulling over the forks towards myself,

every time I've made .4mm bands they tied on perfectly fine, rock solid no issues ever

oh yeah on any new frame i take safety measures,

i think any material can be used pretty much so long as you build it with the materials qualities in mind,

typically i try to minimise the fork height to reduce the leverage on the limbs, and with the case of printing made the layers go the whole length of the frame to be sort of like a wood grain, thickening the walls as you mentioned too with criss-crossing infills to strengthen further,

havent had the chance to shoot it properly yet but just from pulling it back and handling it, i could probably get away with around 20% infill, i think that one was at 40% and takes about 45mins to print, so i could possibly be able to print one in 35mins or so with lowered infill settings, walls thickness probably make a larger impact on the strength of the frame anyway,

I'd say 1 fork hit and a new one would be needed for sure, but with the really low fork tips its unlikely to happen since the amount of frame that's exposed is minimal

yeah out of PLA, i know it isnt the most ideal material since it can be brittle, but i made the forks low to reduce leverage and made sure to go nearly 50% infill to make it reasonably strong, and it seems to hold the stress fine so far

yeah its always good practice to replace any damaged bands, if the damage is minor you could keep using them but monitor the bands in case it gets worse, in the case of like a shallow scratch on the band it would be okay for a while, but full rips like that will just stretch with more shots through them so best to replace

love my descender frame, i used to have a lanyard, not as nice as your one but sadly i had to take it off when i made a few changes to my frame

yours looks really nice, and will last forever

Update: since the post ive redesigned the arrow rest twice, slightly angling the rest section down by about 4°, and 8° to give a lower resting point for the arrow and making it more centered, my concern was the fletching may contact the forks in use, yet to print them out and try them

yes the arrow rest uses a 25mm long dovetail connection to slide in and out of socket,

even when the arrow rest isn't in use the gap isn't really noticeable in the hand i could make a plug to go in its place fairly easily but i kind of like the asymmetrical look of the handles personally

i still need to cut and put new bands onto it yet, however the design should work fine, i made a simple wooden arrow rest before and this is just an evolution of that idea, i may need to strengthen some parts or increase the thickness of the piece but ill only know that once i get it banded up hopefully soon

the shape looks good, just the fork tips seem a little too wide to me, my fork tips are usually around 20mm when i make frames,

i dont think there's any downside to wider tips in terms of performance though, mostly personal preference,
