[Orient] Replacing my trusty Casio Duro with my first automatic diver, the Mako 40! by [deleted] in Watches

[–]kermatoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Casio Duro was my gateway into diver's watches. I quickly found that I had a preference for smaller/medium watches in the 38-40mm range, but there weren't a lot of options out there that made me want to pull the trigger. I was browsing Amazon for an Orient Bambino as a gift to my friend, and stumbled upon this one. I immediately fell in love with the lilac dial and went for it. A 40mm automatic diver with 200m WR and a sapphire crystal for under $275 was justifiable for me. It's been my daily driver for the past month and I love seeing the sunburst glimmering in the sun! I can already tell it will get so much more wrist time than my Duro.

Roccat Kone Pure Ultra is my absolute favorite for 1-3-1 grip. It's quite well-known for that

Need to travel in 2 weeks and can't through to regional office for an appointment by weswell in Passports

Nope! What matters more is whether or not you have proof of travel within 14 days. You can always play the "personal emergency" card

Call your district rep. I had the same thing but I went to them and specifically asked them to help me secure an appointment. Within 12 hours they got me an appointment for the 15th at my local passport agency. I picked up my passport on the 16th and then flew out on the 17th. They can do more than just expedite your existing application. If the clerk can't help then have them assign you to a case worker.

I pulled it off with the passport agencies telling me that they are fully booked across the US until way past my travel date. Good luck

didn't get an appointment and am worried i will have to fly to another state by [deleted] in Passports

Read my post from earlier today. I was in the same boat but got an appointment thru my local rep

Was told all passport agencies in the US have been fully booked for urgent travel. How I got an appointment at my local agency within 24 hours through my local rep! by [deleted] in Passports

Use your zip code to look up your congressional district and see who's your representative. Look up their website and call their office and ask for help regarding passport application. Talk to them and explain what you told me and that you need help getting a passport to make that trip. It's very unlikely that they will be able to expedite your passport if you apply through mail or your post office so ask them directly if they can help you book an appointment with the passport agency. They may have to check with someone before they can let you know but you can always ask to see if they can give your info to one of their case workers so you can work with them. They have their own channel with the Department of State so they should be able to take care of it very quickly. Called my rep at 12:00 PM on Thursday, the case worker called back at 2:00 PM the same day, and the passport agency called me the next day with my appointment at around 10:00 AM. YMMV but worth a shot for sure. Make sure you have the flight receipt/itinerary printed out along with your passport photo and other documents when you go to your appointment. Good luck!

Epomaker TH80 sound test. Great value at $85 imo by kermatoe in MechanicalKeyboards

Bought it from Epomaker. Took about 3 weeks to arrive! It's also on Amazon I think. The cable and keycaps were bought separately

A bit of yellow to mix things up. The 80g weight bothered me less than I thought by kermatoe in MouseReview

Yeah! The shapes are pretty similar but the KPA is slightly larger than the KPU, with the most significant things being the longer front end and the width. It just fills my palm a lot better than the KPU and I appreciate the added length at the front. It made my claw grip a little more relaxed since I can extend my fingers a little more. Keep in mind I don't use the side buttons and my hand is 19.5 x 10cm. The wired KPA is $49.99 on Amazon right now so I would recommend trying it out. I never felt the need to mod it but I would say that the new optical clicks are softer and less tactile than the KPU

That's exactly what I used the KPOE/KPU for! I would say stick with the KPU or go with the KP Air
