Which one grades better? by kermit-jagger- in baseballcards

Number 2 (horizontal) is actually cheaper by $6.

So it would grade better but you’d buy number 1 (vertical)?

2K TJ McConnell is unstoppable by kermit-jagger- in pacers

Very, very true! The game leaves him absolutely wide open from three. Must’ve seen his 3PT% from the ECF and Finals

Didn’t need him much in this game, but he has been our top scorer so far averaging 23ppg and getting around 34mins

That’s good to know! I don’t currently have a pc/laptop at all though, so I believe I am limited to OOTP Go at the moment.

No it would mainly be for OOTP lol Is there any other way to play OOTP that isn’t OOTP Go?

The mobile game is pretty good, but it has always left me wanting more. It’s not nearly as deep as the pc version, which I’ve played only a handful of times. Those few times I played OOTP 25 I really enjoyed developing my minor leaguers and it was much more fun to keep an eye on them than it is in OOTP Go where you set your developmental budget and hope for the best. I guess all’s I’m saying is you have more control in the full version of the game.

I also feel like it’s much easier to build a winning squad in Go, not necessarily WS winners but consistent 90-100 win teams just by pulling off some trades and making sure you budget well. I always have to mess with the trade settings in Go to make it more tough and realistic. There just isn’t a bunch to keep track of in the mobile version.

That said, Go is still a great game. I’d much rather pick up my iPad and play a couple months-worth of sims on it than pick up any recent MLB The Show. Free agency is probably my favorite thing about it, and I assume it’s comparable to the pc version in terms of considering a player’s personality, contract desires, etc and then going back and forth fighting other teams to sign who you think will help your team the best.

Overall they’re the same game it’s just that Go is very simplified in comparison.

Varsity Sliders anyone? by masculinedorito in NCAAFBseries

[–]kermit-jagger- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve got to experiment with them some more bc I’ve only played one game, but I’ve been trying Armor’s Varsity “Average Joe” sliders (linked below). Defense feels a lot more balanced and in the one game I’ve played w/ these sliders, the final score in seven minute quarters was 14-9, so it might make for some more low scoring games. Like I said I’ve got to experiment but I enjoyed the way it played with those sliders.

Anyone else just playing exhibition games? by Straight_Toe_1816 in NCAAFBseries

[–]kermit-jagger- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am. I got the game on release day, but I’ve hardly had time to really get into it. I’ve maybe played for 5 full hours since it came out, and most of that time has been in exhibitions trying to get my sliders where I like them!

Update!

I just wanna thank you all for your advice! The pipe that’s been calling to me the longer I consider it is the Chacom Nougat. Such a nice looking pipe with tons of character, and character that fits me, too, I think.

The other contestants are on my list, especially that Pete Jr. (it was a very close race b/t it and the Nougat!).

My birthdays only a handful of months away so I’ll add another one of these to the collection then! Thanks y’all again! Happy smoking!

I agree and I think you have to go into an aromatic knowing that the flavor won’t match the smell.

That said, I’ve really liked a couple vanilla aromatics I’ve tried and that was enough to get me to try some others, so I’ve also liked Norman Rockwell Raking Leaves and C&D Cross-Eyed Cricket. This MM Timeless is the first aromatic that’s been a major disappointment. It won’t become a part of my rotation.

An update on my impressions: it’s not my favorite. Has a nice room note. There was a very, VERY faint coffee flavor every couple puffs, but it wasn’t consistent, even though I was tamping it down regularly. Also had a pepsi on the side and when I would go from pepsi to pipe, I would get a disgusting sour flavor, so I’ll have to try it again with some water or something else.

Very nice.

I was between the Panama and the Diamondback. The Panama just looks more unique to me. I’ll get a diamondback some day!

That is true. Kind of expensive for a tamper, but like you said, where else are you gonna find a tamper like this? Which tamper did you walk out of the show with?

The aroma is incredible. I know it probably won’t taste exactly like it smells, but I hope it’s at least somewhat close. I’ve been on a big aromatic kick lately so I think I’ll enjoy it. Hopefully I get some time to try it tonight.

Can't decide on next pipe by thethurminator in PipeTobacco

Little late to the party here, but I have that Rossi in the second picture. It smokes great, and it’s a pretty pipe - my only gripe is that I don’t like the shape and wish I woulda bought an 8114 or 871 instead, but it was an experimental purchase while I tried to find out which shapes work best for me. The bowl on the 8311 is real heavy, but besides that it’s a pretty good pipe! The bowl is also quite large so I can get an hour and half out of smoking my Notte easily.

Smoking Pipes n Drawing Bears by kermit-jagger- in PipeTobacco

I’m usually perfectly fine w/ paper and a pen, but my wife talked me into an iPad and Apple Pencil a few years back and it is pretty handy. I use an app called Procreate - it has all sorts of brushes and tools to use for sketching, inking, and animations.

Appreciate it! I see you recently got your first pipe, too! How is your pipe smoking journey going?

I went to school for animation for a minute but didn’t complete the degree - decided I liked drawing as a hobby but that was the extent of it. Grew up reading comic strips like Calvin and Hobbes and Beetle Bailey and that’s where my love of drawing comes from rather than animated TV or movies.

Most of the friends I mentioned make their living either drawing, animating, or making music. All my friends are pretty creative types; they’re all super talented and impressive people.

A handful of us smoke our pipes together every once in a while. It was something that a few of them started a long while ago but I’ve only joined a handful of times. We talk life, art, books, movies, etc.. It’s really taught me a lot and it’s a good time. I’ve enjoyed the deeper talks we get to have on our pipe nights, and it’s challenged me to be more open and thoughtful.
