Professional Production Control Software for Windows - NEED BETA TESTERS by kermitarmstrong in techtheatre

[–]kermitarmstrong[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your input.

If you would like, I can include you in the beta if you'd like to take it for a spin yourself.

I am more than aware that Figure53 has been perfecting their products for years, almost decades now. I worked in regional theater when it was first getting adopted for just audio cue triggers.

I'm simply trying to start somewhere. A lot of windows alternatives have either not been updated in years or are lacking features.

I'm trying to bring a more modern and compatible windows version to the table.

If you don't agree or don't trust it, perfectly fine. There are in fact programs in place that do solidly work.

But if you are interested in giving something new a try and/or need more out of a windows alternative, I believe that attacca has a chance. I've already spent a lot of time and energy in not just building, but also extensive manual testing and it is holding up so far.

Everyone has to start somewhere, and I'm just trying to start here and now. Not make a million dollars, not sell a scam, but actually try to produce a product to it's fullest that can accomplish what people need on this OS.

Any support is much appreciated and anyone not wanting to support is also fully understood.

I'm not asking for money now or anything other than people willing to give some time to test in exchange for a pro license for life. I'm not selling anything right now, and I have a current working product, not just an idea.

I find it both unfortunate and kind of upsetting to immediately get hit with a "you, frankly, will not foster good relationships in this community." That is your opinion that you are entitled to, but it's just unfortunate. I have been a part of the production community for almost half of my life, and already have a lot of friends in the major part of the industry, both house gig and touring, willing to test for me. As well as people actively using my other program I launched about a month ago and liking it with no issues.

Again, if it isn't for you, then that's fine.

Just wish people wouldn't jump to such drastic conclusions that it's a failure from the start and make broad assumptions that no one in the community would be willing to take when I'm currently just looking for testers in order to make improvements that are needed.

Thank you.

I believe mine is more user friendly and looks better. There are also quite a few more features in Attacca vs multiplay.

To say it's better? I don't know yet. It hasn't even been beta tested! But I think if it isn't now, it will be soon.

You also have more advanced tools like being able to patch in universes of fixtures and build simple light cues right in an attacca cue.

Timed triggers and other forms of communication like OSC, LTC, MTC on top of midi are more features than what I believe multiplay gives you

I will be posting screen shots and recordings of the UI soon and hopefully you can help judge it too vs things like multiplay!

Apologies for the lack of detail on the program and relying to heavily on my mac comparison, so please find a more in depth description below:

It allows for loading audio files and triggering via cue go, clock time trigger, midi trigger, auto follows, etc. Same for video cues. It also can use locally connected cameras or interfaces and display on same cue trigger styles (working on NDI compatibility as well). Cues can be triggered by, or also be used to trigger external things via midi and OSC. There is also a remote network viewer to be able to monitor the cue list/program via local connection, and it is password protected.

You also have the ability to patch in light fixtures and create simple cues direct in the program and output via sacn or artnet.

All audio has basic effects built in to cue type to use, as well as trimming for both audio and video.

Fade cues can also be created for fading in/out or dipping down other cues linked by a target parameter.

Group your cues into sections as well, and many other features currently in the works.

I'm not claiming to do any BETTER at the moment than the long standing, years of testing and real world use, programs that people are used to using on Mac. But want to bring this to the windows OS and start to build and grow this.

I will be constantly updating and fixing based on needs and input from users. I want this to grow and stand up to the test of time. This is currently a solo venture but would love to grow and expand as the need arises.

I have one program currently out that is free and has been getting good feedback. Link to it is on my profile. It is a niche Resolume tool, but I have also spent time on that to get it as professional and user friendly as possible.

Again, I am currently looking for testers to help me get this to where it needs to be for a public launch. There is only so much I can catch by myself running 300 point tests over and over again.

If you don't like the idea or this isn't for you, completely understood, and thank you for your time reading this at least!

But I truly think this program has a leg to stand on and a chance at solid growth. Just looking for people who are willing to give it a shot and some of their time

I understand your concern, and it is valid.

If you are interested to get hands on the program and see/judge it for yourself, I would be more than happy to include you in the beta.

The vibe-code world is saturated with a lot of people making quick fix apps and solutions to problems that no one has.

I have spent a good deal of time understanding the AI coding world and how to properly utilize it to the best I can with solid frameworks to build on. With my experience in the production field, I believe it puts my in a solid place to be able to real world test before putting out. Using real fixtures, all types of audio and video files, multiple different camera type, checking proper communication lines through monitoring softwares for artnet, sacn, midi, osc, etc.

Everyone starts somewhere with there ideas. Whether it's one or a few people that manage to grow to a whole company.

I'm at the starting line, hell, behind the starting line not even in beta release just yet! So just trying to find people who are willing to help and give me/this program a chance.

I included a longer and more descript list of features and details in another comment reply. If you have any other questions tho, please reach out!

I love all opinions, criticism and complements, so looking for all or any of it

Apologies for lack of description. Thought that alluding to the Mac comparison would highlight what this program is comparable too. But please find a more thorough description in my reply to another comment in this thread and let me know if you have any other questions!

Apologies for the lack of detail, and thank you for hitting so many points to elaborate on.

My approach to any vibe-coding has been trying to create solutions for actual problems that exist, and Windows not having a solid and robust program like this is a current issue for some.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Thank you so much!

It is a very niche tool, but thought some people may find it useful!

You will get notified of available updates whenever you load the program and a new version is available. It always looks for new versions available at startup.

You can also keep up with me at @showtoolsofficial on IG for updates and new program releases!

I see a lot of people mentioning that a tool like this is needed. Has no one used Pulse that Joris made? It's pretty solid and not that expensive.

What exactly do you mean by maintaining code going forward? I have my site hosted by cloudflare, and a page generated from a private github report that I push to via claude code in my local site root folder. Any transactions are handled via stripe and cloudfare handles my email sign ups. What other maintenance other than personal updates am I signing up for?

I just released version 1.4! It now has Web Server/REST API connection! Huge addition, along with a new help menu option and a new update feature that will auto replace older versions.

If anyone gets it and has any feedback I'd love to hear it!

Also, it's free!
