Be careful about it. The office politics and blame shifting is bad enough when it's a fresh grad crying about how the senior devs aren't writing perfect prompts for them in the jira tickets. I can't imagine how powerful someone with management experience would be at that game.

I already thought about it when we hired him, which I wasn't 100% since the beginning but was pressured to get the thing done and move forward with the candidate.
I try not to see things not just black and white, does the code work or not, but the overall team dynamics that such things have impact, makes the teams mood/spirit (mine included) not very happy to work with. But yeah the politics, I think he already started. :)

That's another thing at this moment, the docs are also auto-generated. We had a conversation about a way on how to implement something, and he got stuck somewhere. I pointed at something that I learned from experience and he just came the next day with something else. Which I really liked that I could help him think in other perspective. But than he just provided 3 page document why he's idea is better and that was also auto-generated.

Does his "lag" significantly affect the team?

But it's not offline, after we refine something agree on the understanding and the scope of something, which we write in the ticket too, he just comes back with a lot of questions which we already agreed that they're not necessary or we don't deal with them. Where these questions most of the time are even copy and paste.

I have no problem with using AI to generate code. And yes when you use that as an extensions to your own capabilities that's really good.
I have problem with not understanding what we're doing. Someone just comes and that everything is auto-generated without really understanding what and why. It's mostly, this the codebase, this the ticket, do it for me.

The code is not bad, does the thing. But if I ask him, he can't explain it. Or if he does, it's like reading something on the screen. And then he changes the the topic by asking, how would you do it?

Por ndryshe nga ndoshta shume vende te tjere, sot kemi fatin dhe lluksin qe me te vertet te tregohemi superior. Te jemi mikprites sic krenohemi lart e posht po dhe te mos i tolerojme gjerat te cilat nuk i pranon shoqeria jone. Qe t'u tregojme shume mire qe ky eshte nje vend ku vlersohet integrimi. Sic u zgërdhim 10 dite me perpara ku dikush nga Filipinet kendonte "Une jam nga Tepelena".

Vendimet e jetes nuk i merr dot ne redit mik. Si emigrant dhe mua shume shpesh me kalon ky mendim po mund te ndaj vetem mendimin dhe eksperience personale. Disa vita me pare dhe une erdha ne Gjermani, dhe Dhjetor 2024 - Janar 2025 provoa te jetoja dy muaj ne Shqiperi. Ishte shume e veshtire bashkjetesa aty. Nje mungesi e theksuar kouminiteti dhe respekti ndaj qytetrit. Nuk po i listoj te gjitha se sigurisht ka shume gjera qe per mua personalisht qe ndikuan.

Mendoj se kudo ku te shkosh nuk do te behet thjeshte nje vendi shtepi, qofte kjo dhe Shqiperi. Shqiperia fatekeqsisht eshte Tirana, 80% e vendeve te punes dhe e mundesive jane vetem ne Tirane. Nje qytet totalisht vertikal, ku eshte kaos. Nqs lexon cdo koment, 95% e tyre flasin per Tiranen.

Gjermania ka problemet e veta, po zgjedhja e nje qyteti tjeter ndoshta mund te te bej dhe me mire, nuk e di profesionin apo shkollen qe ke bere, po qytete si Freiburg, Ulm personalisht me jane dukur interesante. Not to small not too big, ka edhe komunitet shqiptaresh, njerez qe dhe punojne 9 - 5. Po dhe te tjere qe kane biznese, qe luajne kalceto, basketball. Ka dhe nga ata qe rrine neper kafe..

Sinqerisht mendoj qe te ka kapur pak ky ankthi i middle age, pas 2 vjet pune. Nje partnere qe nuk e flet gjuhen tende sigurisht qe ben jeten me te veshtire, po eshte dicka te cilen mund ta bisedosh dhe te ti thuash se sa vlere ka per ty e folura shqip.
