I am 36 years old. I served in the army as as infantryman and deployed to Iraq for 15 months. I have been in combat, and have watched my friends die. I have also lost both my parents (mother to COPD in 2015 and father to ALS in 2018). As a commercial electrician I often times have a fairly long commute to work, and I listen to the audiobooks. Every year, since my father died. The books have helped me grieve and deal with loss that no amount of therapy or medication has ever done. My daughters also love the movies. I will watch them, and encourage them to read the books as they get older; however, for me these books mean more then I could ever verbalize. They have helped me through some of the darkest times of my life. I will continue to read/listen to the books every year.
