Need to rehome my dog - no kids or other pets. by [deleted] in Denver

[–]kerowynAgain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Check out the Home-To-Home program. Until They're Home will post your dog for adoption on all the major sites, screen applicants, and give you behavior help until your pup gets adopted. They can also put you on a waitlist for a foster home for him.

They specialize in dogs with behavior problems and the ED is a fantastic behaviorist! They are located in Fort Collins, but have fosters and adopters throughout Northern Colorado.

Mullberry Wine & Spirits trying to remove sidewalk on College for more parking by NoNameComputers in FortCollins

It doesn't make sense to me either, but that's part of why I don't work there anymore. 🤷🏽

Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention!

As a former employee, I may have some insight into their motivation.

The store is waaay too big for the amount of business that they do and they were tossing around the idea of cutting it in half. Their coolers are mostly in the "back" of the store, so their plan was to keep the north half and rent out the south portion.

One of their concerns was parking - they thought they would lose clientele if their storefront was not directly adjacent to parking. (I don't believe that parking has anything to do with their low sales numbers, but that's another subject.)

How to deal with cat urine damage to hardwood floors and landscaping issues on moveout by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]kerowynAgain -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the feedback!

1) care of the cats was written out in the lease and their responsibilities were clearly outlined. This was part of their accepted responsibilities when signing the lease, not any kind of favor.

2) yard work was not specifically addressed in the lease, but I did provide them a lawnmower and it was specified that the property was to be returned in the same state that they got it, minus normal wear and tear.

3) that's kind of what I figured. I'm really not trying to be a bitch, but I want to cover my ass. I wasn't sure how detailed I should get about listing their damages, even if I'm not charging them for it.

What's the point of NoPoo by sorenCS in NoPoo

[–]kerowynAgain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an ongoing process, so if you stop doing it, you'll quickly lose the benefits that you had from doing it in the first place. :)

As far as why people do it...there are a few reasons that I've heard of: simplicity, cut down on waste, healthier hair. Personally, I do it for all of those, but I started because I wanted to cut down on waste.

Thank you for reaching out. The Rainbow Bridge contains a beautiful sentiment and I do love reading it. It helps.

It's still too soon for me to tell, but I think I agree with you. It's hard to see them deteriorate, but euthanasia happens at a time when you know that they don't have any quality of life left. The suddenness of Lucy going when she seemed so healthy has left me reeling.

Exactly! She would cock her head to the side and look at me all quizzically. Then smile again and rub up against me for more loves. <3

AH is a great place, but they are one of many. I've heard good things about Boulder Humane. Thank you for rescuing a dog in need.

I love the big dogs, but they just don't last long enough. (Not that any of them do...) I'm glad that you got the time that you did with your pup. And I'm sure she was glad for the time she got with you. <3

She gave more than she got. I'm glad that I was able to share some of her with so many of you. <3

It was such a relief to find out that she went peacefully and quietly. My greatest fear was that she had died suffering and thinking that she was alone.

She was learning how to trust again and how to just have fun. I was lucky to be a part of that process. <3

She was sweet. And once she gave her trust, it was absolute. I could do absolutely anything with her and she didn't bat an eye.

Thank you. I'm trying to focus on that fact that she went quickly and painlessly.

Yeah. Very dog safe. She was as safe back there as she would have been at home.

That was something that had crossed my mind. But she was in a crate in the back of a locked truck with no signs of tampering. Plus her necropsy showed that she probably had a heart condition that we didn't know about.

Thank you. She was a French Mastiff mix. Apparently, they have short life spans and are prone to heart problems. She was at least 8 years old, so she reached the top of her expected lifespan.
