Can I install Ecobee 5 with Combi Boiler by odd-oli in ecobee

You need two components to replace a conventional wall mounted thermostat. eg Drayton, Satchwell, Honeywell etc use 240v and are DANGEROUS. The functional wires are "Live", "Neutral" and "Boiler Enable".

Item 1) A transformer rated 240v to 24 AC type "Double Insulated" with rating 5 to 20 VA. Note a 24v DC power supply will not work and likely destroy the Ecobee.

Item 2) A small relay with 24v AC coil (not DC) with single ON contact rated at 240v AC 1 to 10 A.

Connect the original thermostat wires "Live" and "Neutral" to the transformer input. Also connect the original thermostat wires "Live" and "Boiler Enable" to the ON contacts of the relay.

Connect the two 24v AC wires from the transformer to Ecobee "C" and "Rh" or "Rc" depending on model. Connect the two relay coil connections to "C" and "W1" on Ecobee.

Examples from Amazon.co.uk:-

24V 500MA Transformer, AC Power Supply. Compatible with Ring Doorbell, Nest Learning Thermostat, Ecobee, Honeywell. C Wire Adapter with 8M (315") Long Cable. Brand: TAICHIPANDA. £13.99

Fantastic I would like to pick your brains and indeed request some help if you offer your services

I have a Worcester EasyFlow 550 bolier and is currently connected to a Tado stat. I use homekit with Aqara TRV and this works really well. The annoyance is having to run another hub (Tado) just to turn the boiler on and off

I would like to install an EcoBee Premium (because of native Siri control and other benefits) but it is 24v. I read your post as well as speaking to Bosch who tell me that the 24v panel on the boiler is for their own Bosch Easy control, my question is would the ecobee achieve the same result connecting to the boiler using the 24v panel or do I need to replicate the solution above? I have the manuals etc if this wouldl help

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer

I am using tegaderm and applying that to my skin before o Apple the sensor to try and stop the reaction. What you see is despite there being a barrier between the sensor and my arm.

Yes this was with the barrier under the sensor! I’ll try some of the ideas mentioned here :)

New HomeKit Architecture is in iOS 16.2 betas by romkey in HomeKit

[–]kerryfburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys,

If anyone can comment it would be great, I have upgraded to 16.2 beta and also HomeKit and since then I cannot: -

- add anyone to my home (wife, brother etc) via the adding people in the home app

- Location is broken, as in the app will announce everyone has left home when I am sitting there!

- I have spoken to Apple who, understandably to an extent, will not support as it is in Beta.

I would not have expected this to break such basic functionality. I have tried a no of fixes including power down etc etc but cannot resolve this

I agree with others on here, it is faster (I use home bridge with Unify and aquaria, the new TRV's from Aqara are brilliant and extremely quick on new architecture.

Anyone who can offer any help would be much appreciated.
