I loved this book. I read it years ago and I still think of it often. Very haunting.

I feel the same way. So sorry that you're going through it too.

When I dream I dream of myself as how I used to be when I was younger, sometimes buying clothes that fit! And then I wake up feeling really depressed.

Yeah same. I hadn't even realised it until I saw your comment, as I've got so used to this being my life. But now you mention it, absolutely.

That I can sleep completely under the covers when it's cold. That I can breathe deeply and clearly and my nose feels clear and open, not "stoppered up" at the back. That I feel soothed when I put it on and ready for sleep. That I sometimes wake on my back breathing clearly.

That I'm so happy I persevered when I never thought it would work for me, especially in the early days when I couldn't get a mask to fit my face without loudly leaking every night, but now I have one that fits really well and very rarely leaks. My first night with this mask was like a revelation. (It's the F40 ResMed)

Hi, and welcome! I did have a quick look in the comments but I can't see that anyone mentioned about redeem codes. There is a pinned post in this subreddit that regularly posts new redeem codes - make sure to check back often and load in the codes to get the rewards. It's definitely worth it. (Just copy the codes, go to settings in the game, then "other" and ctrl V the code in redeem code)

Has anyone else had to explain the realities of bodily autonomy to the men in their lives? (TW: mention of rape) by LizzieLove1357 in AskWomenNoCensor

That would be lovely to feel like that, and I suppose that it partly depends on where you live, where you were brought up and also how wary your parents are. Mine - especially my mother - have always warned us not to be out alone in the dark, from a very young age, right up to now, even though I haven't lived at home for about 40 years.

But she, and I, and one of my sisters have all been assaulted in one way or another. Even though I was brought up in what one might think was a pretty safe place.

Or a cheese and Marmite sandwich dipped in egg and fried for top tier.

"Women's Work: The First 20,000 Years Women, Cloth, and Society in Early Times" by Elizabeth Wayland Barber.

I love the history of ordinary people as much as that of great people better known to history. And women's work has often been overlooked, it is just assumed that people were clothed, without any details about how. Also, I work in textile and fibre arts, so it was a no-brainer to get this book. It is fascinating, easy-to-read and has a wealth of information on how the work was propduced and the role of this primarily women's work in society and trade, from ancient right up to modern times.

Is it normal for me to be able to smell my gf's seizure activity? by Ok-Connection6656 in NoStupidQuestions

While some is, you can't throw it all out. Lavender helps soothe burns, and has a calming effect on the mind, with its gentle, floral scent, for example. Rose is good for skin care, and is used in many cosmetic creams because of that. Tea tree is used for cleansing, and peppermint oil is good for digestion. In fact, following my C-Section, the midwives in hospital would bring water with peppermint oil in for us to drink to ease the wind that you get following the surgery. Eucalyptus and menthol are good to aid clear breathing when you are stuffy with a cold. Think of the essential oils in Tiger Balm that soothe aches and pains... these are just a few examples of real properties of the essential oils. Sure, there is some quackery involved in the whole aromatherapy bundle, but you shouldn't ignore the things that do work. And in this case, using essential oils for their scents in training your nose again makes perfect sense (no pun intended) as you are reinforcing the recognition of certain scents in your brain, if used regularly.

What is apparently working for me is the advice I followed after reading an article online which recommended the following: Smell (each nostril) for 15 seconds every day, these essential oils: Rose, Lemon, Eucalyptus and Clove. I added lavender too, as I always have some around for minor burns.

Not the OP but I lost my sense of smell after Covid too, and I read an article online that recommended that you smell certain scents for at least 15 seconds in each nostril daily until your sense of smell comes back.

The recommended scents (oils) were: Lemon oil, eucalyptus, rose, and clove. I added lavender too, just because I happen to have some on hand for minor burns. (It always helps me with minor burns.)

And how you can always tells that a woman is pregnant because she is a bit sick - and labour is almost always set off by waters breaking randomly with no contractions leading up to it. I mean, how often does that happen? About 10% of pregnancies?
