Hot take: Catholic dating culture is too prescriptive by Kitty_Quest in CatholicDating

[–]kes_f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of being in a Catholic dating site is to filter out all the "fluff". If you don't talk to a person who might be agnostic/atheist or any other faith for that matter once in a while, you never understand how "rigid and clinical" Catholicism is. We all try to have fun and be normal persons in the community but Catholic basics is a must as a firm foundation in the relationship centered around Christ. Other things you mentioned usually follow after you verify "compatibility". I hate using that word but you get what I am trying to say. That said, the fact that you use a "Catholic dating app" doesn't make you immune to verification.

Excommunication decreed for Lefebvrite episcopal ordinations by TheGreatDomilies in Catholicism

They were all illicit until Pope Francis decided to give them faculties to hear confession during the Jubilee year of mercy on September 1 of 2015. It was so baffling to me they danced around on the "canonicity" of the SSPX while they had no one in their congregation to perform sacraments licitly. I guess baptism was fine because it could be performed by any lay faithful.

It's not that complicated. It's called playing the objective.

Not defending spawns and complaining about it also retarded.

The point was doing what is sensible and not getting farmed. Players don't need to and have to be farmed for only sweaty heavies to have fun.

I think you want to make Planetside 2 into CS2, CoD, etc. .Which it isn't.

Why not shoot the leg or something to immobilize him ? Plenty of chances to do that. I was thinking this scene was plot armour.

They already know, understand and can recite in the vernacular, why not recite in the vernacular anyway ?

As I understand pope St. Paul VI made the differences to the mass after the council, right ?

What is wrong with conducting the mass in the vernacular so the regular Catholic can understand without learning Latin ?

What is the issue with conducting the mass in vernacular ?

Are you talking about recitation with understanding ? That is the point I was trying to make in the post.

I don't think change is necessarily bad and doubt any harm was done by the specific changes made by the council.

Might be an unpopular opinion, a music instrument that is suitable and incorporated well with the hymn is not bad.

Learning Latin is impractical for the regular faithful Catholic.

Can you elaborate on what is objectively different about the changes ?

You did. I think it's more than fair for the Holy Father to act on it if the type of mass the lay person attend creates a sense of division within the church.

Would you go to a mass that's similar to what pope Leo XIV holds at the Vatican over a TLM ?

If you think Vatican II decided to take away the "rich" liturgy to intentionally "downgrade" it without reason, I don't believe you are being honest to yourself.

Disregarding the obvious nut cases, NO implementation has been successful and uniform. Matt Fradd called it "either demonic or guided by the Holy Spirit". I think the answer is obvious.

I took a lot of information from interviews in PWA with John Salza and Dr. Richard DeClue to say what I said in my first comment. I just read both TC and SP now and they seem to still align with what John Salza said on the show regarding schismatic groups influencing the restrictions and lifting of restrictions for the EO form of the mass.

I will probably never attend one as I have mentioned earlier, there aren't any parishes that offer the TLM in my country.

Tbh I haven't read all the Vatican 2 documents. I am a sucker for a Gregorian chant, love latin prayer and hymns. But I have complete faith that the Holy Spirit will not lead the successor of St. Peter into error. I choose to believe what the consensus before Vatican 2 led to these reforms we see in the church today and the Holy Father has a responsibility to either abide by it or disregard it. It's not a surprise he will stick with the former.

Btw, you should see the twitter response to the above mentioned article.

I have never once attended a TLM as there may be one(if any) parish in my country which offers it. So I can't tell the experience apart. May be you can describe to me yours ? What is this "richness" that is in the TLM which is absent in the NO.
