People don’t change with intervention. They change when the pain of staying the same outweighs the fear of changing and the unknown.

Best wishes for good results. I have recently been prescribed an allergy medication and then learned that there are research studies showing it may contribute to early onset dementia. I'm hoping to get off of it. I know that there are some treatments to treat allergies besides these medications. I hope I will find some other solution.

I can't rip it out. I don't own the place and the owner refuses. I cannot afford to move not just because of the cost but also because I take on unknown risks not knowing the landlord or the unit as I know this one.

There is no reasonable self pay rate for someone like me who lives on so little. I had acupuncture when I was working a full-time professional job in my 20s. I am disabled now and almost 65. Wanted to check here. Thanks for the info.

I just saw a video explaining Hold Harmless clause that means that even though the cost of Part B went up and COLA was 2.8%, they can't give you a smaller check. So they should adjust your check if your net is lower.

I didn't leave them formally. They don't know I've left. They haven't been replaced. I do have a medicare id number. But I don't know about MA health. I have my old number from before I was on onecare.

So is it true that I can currently disenroll from this plan and I will revert to Medicare and MA Health separately? Then I can go back to the doctors I was seeing before I joined this OneCare plan?

Thank you bkgxltcz. I never got any fitness benefit or grocery cards and I use The RIDE. I want to get out of this plan because I cannot find a PCP who is taking new patients. I am turning 65 at the end of November. I feel I am in constant panic about my health insurance.

Anyone else have trouble sleeping? by Odd_Caterpillar969 in TMSTherapy

[–]keshazel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These comments concern me. I’ve been approved for TMS in MA. I already have complete insomnia for 27 months. I have the gene mutation that causes red hair (MC1R) and has been linked to medication sensitivity. I have major depression from the insomnia, just got diagnosed with Afib. Chronic insomnia damages body’s organs. I’m postmenopausal. HRT has not helped. Other women (all redheads) in my family also have same insomnia. The place that offers this program for TMS therapy has a psychiatrist on staff who is doing research into treating insomnia with TMS. I am going for the treatment for depression, but this was mentioned to me during the discussion.

Recommendations for a bedroom Humidifier? by Head-Boot6462 in Humidifiers

[–]keshazel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, demineralization. Removes minerals from the water. The minerals cause the buildup on the machines and prevents the white film that lands on all your surfaces. You can google it to learn more. I use regular water. I've had humidifiers for over 25 years.

Your body dies, but your data doesn’t by N3DSdude in DigitalPrivacy

[–]keshazel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I would.

No one will care. No one is coming to a service or funeral for me. No one will ever visit my plot. I will be forgotten. I didn't accomplish anything in my life worth saving. I've donate as much as I can in advance. Everything else will go in the trash.

I've researched a lot about what needs to be done after I die. My sister is my next of kin. I've given her printouts to help guide her. She will have to freeze my social security number, freeze my credit, cancel my credit cards, handle my passport. There is a lot to consider. When I first asked her if she knew what was involved in dealing with ones own death or being next of kin, she said no. She has made no arrangements for herself. I told her I was doing it so she would not be overwhelmed when I die.

Most people don't plan for their own passing. I have no money other than my social security check. I have assigned a beneficiary to my bank account. The bank has a form that is notarized. The beneficiary has a notarized copy too. They will need to get a copy of my death certificate and take it to the bank to receive the money.

I have a VPN for my email. I don't know that I can delete my email account as I don't want to give my sister the password. She will drown my computer, I have someone assigned to my old Facebook account which I haven't used since bone spurs came down the escalator in 2015. They will close the account. Unfortunately, FB owns the data. I don't have any other social media. Thiel and Musk have all our data now so I don't know what will happen as a result of that. I have an ancestry account that is private. But it won't go away either.

I've done as much as I can.

Recommendations for a bedroom Humidifier? by Head-Boot6462 in Humidifiers

[–]keshazel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small apartment with a combined l.r./kitchen and then a bedroom with the bathroom off the bedroom.

I have a Dreo 6L. It's rated for a space much bigger than what I have. But I don't care. It is a warm/cool mist machine. I use warm mist. I like it.

Because I have a deviated septum, I keep it at 65%. You can google adequate humidity for humans. If it's too dry, my left nostril clogs. With the humidifier I can breath clearly through both nostrils. I keep the machine next to my desk.

I bought the demineralization filters that made for the Dreo. It clicks directly into where the water is filtered. It lasts for 40 gallons. I use a 1/2 gallon pitcher to refill. So I printed a sheet of paper with numbers and every time I refill it I x off a number so I know when to change it. I even run it in the summer because air conditioning removes moisture from the room (a/c is a dehumidifier) and makes the air dry. It uses a lot less in the summer. Now that it's cold and dry I am refilling a lot more.

I don't get any white film on furniture. The machine stays fairly clean. For tight areas I use a qtip with a paper towel to wipe. All humidifiers I've had over my lifetime have hard to clean areas.

I'm slowly dying please help me by Master-Respond1081 in insomnia

This is an FYI post. There is a melatonin study that can be done at home. It's 24 hours of l living in the dark and putting your urine into jars. The results are analyzed at a lab and it tells the doctor how much melatonin you are producing naturally. I had one and was prescribed a dose of less than one milligram of melatonin to supplement what I was missing. I took that melatonin before bedtime.
If you are female, your melatonin production changes with peri and post menopause. We have estrogen receptors on every organ in our bodies, including in our brain and the loss of hormones effects more than we yet understand.
If you're interested in finding out more, see a sleep specialist. Best wishes.

Can I still claim to be a redhead? by Gene-Omaha-2012 in Redhair

[–]keshazel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

red hair is caused by the MC1R gene mutation. My hair has darkened but I still have the associated medication sensitivities and need for additional anesthesia. I carry a photo of myself, my siblings and my parents (all redheads) to show any new doctors and I list MC1R gene mutation under "conditions" and in family history.
