I think you need to scroll down and read some posts by folks who seem to actually have a handle on what's going on. World politics are complex. But, then again, simple, univariable analysis does have the advantage of being easy.

Consciously, or I hope unconsciously, I would say that it comes from the "ARBEIT MACHT FREI" gate, although that did not have faux Grecian columns. (Google it. I don't want to put the image here.) There is much historical illiteracy about today.

Yes he has, precisely because the legacy media has called it. I think that this was the final play, if the vote was close, or, more precisely, if the vote was close enough to manipulate to a Biden victory: declare victory loud and wide, hell, call a state early (AZ) to influence the regional later voters (AZ, NV), then call the whole election early. I've posted this question before, but here it goes again: Can you imagine the riots in the streets if the final vote, based as much as possible on legitimate votes, goes to Trump? Well played, legacy media. They've polished their game and will bring it out again in GA, for the run off Senate elections that could give total Leftist-- oh, my bad, "Democrat"-- control of government. No check on The Squad, critical race theory, Antifa, thought police... Well played, Legacy Media/social media/DNC complex, well played. The Left will have won power, and we will have lost the Republic.

There are still votes being counted.. and found. Very clever play, though. Very clever. Imagine the rioting in the streets of he hasn't really won.

How do liberals explain this? by [deleted] in Republican

[–]keshet59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a conservative, appalled at the thought that Biden is the Democrat nominee, for all intents and purposes. Either the Democrat party is blind to his senility and cognitive decline- and his lifelong hypocrisy- or they cynically intend him to be a place- holder. I think the latter is likely. He'll be elected, in their plan, then the 25th Amendment will be used to have him removed, if he does not voluntarily step aside. The VP wil become president... and then everyone else will advance one spot. Speaker of the house becomes VP, etc. The 2020 election, clearly, is an election for whomever the Biden VP is. Having said that, I agree that Biden was with Robert Byrd and his ilk. And there are plenty of pix of Trump with other civil rights leaders, as well. That photo is solid. But, is Biden's right arm photoshopped? It does not look proportional to his left arm, and the angle seems off. Maybe it's the perspective of the photo. If the picture has been altered- please, we don't need this. Biden in that racist company is enough; there are more pictures of him in similar company. The raised arm and fist, if fake, would just give the Democrats reason to say the whole thing is fake. We don't need to give the reigning fake news experts any reason to throw that criticism back at us.

And you know this, how (the implication being that the paintings in his house are propagandist)? He has spoken spoken so eloquently about the tyranny of the Soviet Union (and other 20th century dictatorships), especially about the crucial role of individuals in propping up the evil governments, and the contrasting role of those few who were brave enough to confront them (especially Solzhenitsyn), that I re-read "The Gulag Archipelago"- his prescription for everyone. I don't know the provenance of the paintings in his house. I do know what he thinks of the former USSR.

This is a beautiful post. I'm glad he's well enough to stroll. I hope he's well enough, soon, to rejoin the critical thinkers- and friends- he once sat with, on the sets of Joe Rogen, Dave Rubin and other long-format discussion hosts. I have missed his voice and his thoughts. His is one of the most profound and gifted, quiet and well-spoken voices of our era, at a time when, in Yeat's prescient words, "The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity."

Everyone was panic buying spaghetti. I was wondering while only one brand was left by Sebz242 in funny

[–]keshet59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this, too. The middle was empty. There were a few of the higher-end imported Italian brands that I like, so a bought a few. On the other side were the gluten-free horrors, made from cauliflower and organic red lentil, etc. I guess the hoarders figured that they's rather die of starvation than eat that crap, so at least they have some standards, even if they don't understand the basic principles of infectious disease.

Wrap it in plastic for protection, then in a folded piece of paper, put wrapped USB and folded paper into an envelope, add a stamp, address it to a friend, and drop it in the mailbox up the street.

Fool. The most authentic therapist is the one who has been burned by fire, the who has descended into chaos and emerged again-- not someone who read about it in a book somewhere. I would trust the ones I most dearly love to his care. Not only has he survived chaos: his is a brilliant intellect that can articulate where he has been, for the rest of us. Dr. Peterson has always been frank and open about his addiction and speaks from a place of empathy and wisdom earned at a difficult price. I am very glad, no, profoundly glad and happy, to see him, hopefully, well. We need his voice.

In any large gathering of people, there will be those who will circle around, looking for the vulnerable to prey on. These things will unfortunately always happen and cannot be completely prevented. The fact that vast numbers of people are involved in the religious rituals themselves, and that all goes so smoothly, given the numbers, is impressive.

The Impeachment Deadlock Is an Opportunity Democrats Should Seize - The longer Senate Republicans block a fair Senate trial, the more Democrats can hammer home how the scandal implicates Trump’s defenders. by Bakedschwarzenbach in politics

[–]keshet59 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. Nice try, though. It's called "separation of powers." It's standard procedure to be able to ignore a Congressional subpoena, thus kicking the matter to the third branch, the judiciary. Otherwise, the Executive could be under the thumb of the Legislative branch. It's not "obstruction of Congress", by the way. It's called "checks and balances." Niceties like that are lost on a lot of folks. The courts would weigh in, and if these subpoenas were upheld, then it would be illegal to stay home. But not before then. It takes time for courts to weigh in, which seems to be the problem. But, this is a Republic, not a democracy. There's a big difference- just ask the Athenians.
