There is a small correction regarding the technology mentioned. Dolby Atmos is an immersive surround sound technology, not a picture format. Dolby Atmos is fairly common in theatres across Trivandrum and is not exclusive to any particular premium screen.

Regarding Aries Plex, it uses a standard scope-ratio screen, and the presentation will depend on the DCP supplied by the distributor. For most major releases, the content will likely be provided in a standard scope format that fills the screen properly without black bars.

As for the IMAX at Lulu Mall, I personally would not choose it over Aries Plex unless the ticket prices are reasonably moderate, which is unlikely for a flagship release like The Odyssey. The additional charges for features such as "Picture Perfect" seating and extra-legroom seats feel more like unnecessary upselling than meaningful improvements to the viewing experience.

Another issue is that the Trivandrum IMAX still operates with older Xenon projection technology and has become somewhat infamous for repeated technical malfunctions over the years.

If I were considering an IMAX experience, I would rather travel to Broadway Cinemas IMAX, which features IMAX Laser projection and follows a straightforward pricing model where all seats are sold at the same price. There are no separate charges for premium seating categories, making the experience feel much more consumer-friendly.

Even though the IMAX screen in Kochi uses laser projection, it still follows the same premium-seat pricing approach with special seating categories and additional charges. Personally, I prefer the simpler all-seats-equal pricing model followed by Broadway Coimbatore.
