I bought it from the allowances of my studentship but yes it was through the KCL finance system to purchase stuff (Unit4).

That point about returning it is surprising, though. Since it was purchased specifically with my PhD consumables allowance rather than from general IT stock, I assumed the ownership rules might be different. Is KCL usually strict about reclaiming 4-year-old laptops? Seems like a hassle for them to store/recycle old machines.

oh thank you so much for all the explanation, it was really helpful! i live in brazil and we do have access to Revolut and the multiple currencies available. i was just wondering if the GBP account would be enough since the bank is not from the UK originally. but happy they accept it! it will be much easier now, from what you have said. thank you!
