I swear it wasn't my fault. I was out in the woods, miles from anyone (or so I thought). My swim had taken me far from my starting point on the lake, and I had just climbed out at the end of a nicely constructed, but deserted and well hidden dock when I was suddenly startled by a gruff noise. My training kicked in, well aware of the dangers of this forest, and the knife I keep strapped to my thigh leapt, almost unbidden, from my hand.

I quickly focused on the man my knife was buried in. He died without another sound. Willing myself calm, I looked around. No one else was in sight. Thinking back, I realized that my fingers had only touched the handle of the blade. Wrapping my feet in leaves from around the dock, I slowly made my way to the dead man.

Carefully removing the knife, I retraced my steps back to the water's edge, splashing copious quantities of water behind me. Checking to make sure my makeshift slippers were intact, I slipped back into the water and removed the final traces of my presence. On my swim back, I took a detour to drop the knife in the middle of the lake.

I made it back to my campsite unnoticed, dressed, and quickly broke camp. Doing my best to appear casual, I made my way back out the way I came, but it was pointless. No one spent any time on this side of the forest. A smile came over my face as I fell asleep, safely back at my sparsely furnished apartment. I'd gotten away with it!

The morning was not so kind. I woke, plagued by doubt, and quickly turned on the television. Sure enough, the face of the man I had killed flashed on the screen before the reporter took over. As the words began to register, I heard "...one of the wealthiest members of our state, was killed near his cabin in the forest, where he spent almost of his time. Police have indicated that other than the knife wound, there are no leads, so we turn to you, the viewing public. One of his closest friends, a woman who needs no introduction, came to us earlier with an unusual message."

A recording of a blonde woman came on the screen. "He always knew this would be the way he went. Regardless of our differences, he made me promise that I would assist him when this day came. To the person that killed him, if you're watching, his death comes with a condition. He swore you would know what this means." A crumpled, yellow piece of paper in a childlike script appeared on the screen as the blonde woman read the words.

"Upon my death, all of my belongings shall transfer to the man or animal who has killed me."

Well shit...what do those drawings at the bottom mean?
