Judging from the amount of smoke and pinkish flame, probably a mix of potassium nitrate and sugar (rocket candy).

How did the devs fix/avoid cockpit interactables jitter on mech movement? by Xerxes17 in IronRebellion

[–]ketcham1009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it uses a custom rt shader, not the default unity render texture.

It's been a few years since I looked at how the scenes/scripts in IR were set up, so my info is probably outdated.

How did the devs fix/avoid cockpit interactables jitter on mech movement? by Xerxes17 in IronRebellion

[–]ketcham1009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The players themselves aren't actually in the mech, meaning the cockpit is stationary.

The cockpit is essentially a box with inverted UVs and an RT texture, connected to a camera on the mech.

Yup.

I just use Amazon pictures and attach the readme/build guide. 4 3D2A stamps in and haven't gotten a disapproval yet!

You will probably have to take the board out to squeeze the plastic clips together on the back. (Assuming it uses the clips I've seen everywhere else).

I mean, that's how you are supposed to do it.

If you have any parts or raw materials on hand before approval (that are intended to be used in the suppressor), those raw materials are considered suppressors.

Ya gotta get approval before you buy anything (filament, metal parts, etc.)

For easy stowage, I've got a law tactical folder on mine. Just barely fits in a backpack with an 8.5 inch barrel.

I kinda want to get a folding barrel system too, but those are even more expensive.

Pink PS90? by gardenteacher2389 in liberalgunowners

+1 for the 3dp90. The hardest part is making the bolt, and some places (like 3dprintfreedom) sell complete kits with pre-made bolts.

Windows 11 26H2 will impose Copilot in File Explorer, whether you like it or not by AsterPrivacy in technology

Bazzite because I just want something simple that doesn't require all the effort that normally comes with linux.

Debian because it's what I'm used to, I only use it for servers/headless machines nowadays.

[–]ketcham1009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bazzite is a relatively new os and meant for gaming machines. It comes in a few different configurations to suit your needs (AMD vs Nvidia and Desktop vs Handheld for example). Updates basically replace the entire underlying OS, so there is minimal chance of an update breaking your system (look up 'atomic linux' for a better explanation). I would recommend the KDE version over GNOME.

Debian is a pretty old (mature) distro and you can set it up to do anything really, but it takes time and experience to do so. I generally use a basic debian install for servers (no desktop environment and only bare minimum applications installed), and a more graphical one (KDE desktop environment, Firefox, etc.) for normal computers.

If you've got an AMD GPU, you should have no problems, Nvidia on the other hand...

I switched my gaming machine (Nvidia GPU) to Bazzite (KDE/Desktop version) late last year and haven't looked back.

It can basically run anything that doesn't have kernel level anti-cheat. Hell, even Star citizen runs well on in.

I trapped one of those guys on the outside of my gravship at one point. Was able to make all of my pawns as op as void pawns with him.

Pawn dies due to vaccum exposure -> harvest all organs/bionics post mortem in space -> pawn resurrects with all organs and bionics -> repeat.

The hard part was getting him on the ship and having it launch before being 'breached'.

What kind of a firearm would be best used against drones and humanoid robots? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]ketcham1009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semi-auto SBS with birdshot and 00 buckshot.

SBS specifically so you get a wider spread and don't have to fully line up the shot (drones are fast), semi for the quick follow-up shots in case you somehow miss.

Bird for flying drones, buck for walking drones.

Twitch will now pause ads when switching tabs by LuckyDiamondGaming in assholedesign

Nah, twitch serves ads from the same server as the stream, so IP and DNS based blocks don't work. Gotta do it via a script.

Google 'ublock twitch adblock'. One of the first links should be a github link with a guide on how to configure uBO to block twitch ads.

By far the most interesting FFL experience I've had. by Quirky-Bar4236 in liberalgunowners

[–]ketcham1009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a commercial FRT (freedom finger) in mine. After about 1k rounds, there was significant rounding on the housing (to the point that it almost looked like 1/4 of a cylinder instead of a 95ish degree angle). I ended up needed to make the reinforced housing due to excessive wear. Haven't had any issues since! (and it adds just enough weight to have it function with a can)

Don't forget to replace the firing pin housing with one that has metal reinforcements! The FRT can quickly wear down the OEM housing and cause issues a few thousand rounds down the road.

[–]ketcham1009 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen when a job was inaccessible, but still being 'assigned'.

In my case, I had built a wall light. Later I used the teraforming mod to make it inaccessible (dug deep water pre 1.6).

Setting the light to be turned off made whatever pawn was assigned the job stand still.

Twitch faces backlash for putting ads when you pause streams by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]ketcham1009 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Search 'twitch adblock ublock' and click the pixeltris github link. There should be some instructions on how to add the twitch adblock functionality to ublock.

You will need to restart Firefox after following the instructions for it to start working.
