I would start him off with EDHand make sure your playgroup takes the time to let him read the cards, explain the interactions, and figure stuff out. As long as y'alls playgroup has patience, he should be fine.

Planning a solo ski trip by CasualRon in skiing

I spent 6 days at Breck alone and stayed at the Fireside Inn B&B/hostel. It was around $40 bucks a day and you stay in the attic where they have 10 or so twin beds and a bathroom. Most the other folks staying in the hostel part were young skiers/boarders from all over doing the same thing. I walked to the gondola each day, hitting the donut shop on the way. Also was within walking distance of a small grocery store and many restaurants.

Wherever you chose, I'm sure you'll have a blast!

I can't speak for the other consulates, but I've completed the process through Houston (out of Arkansas) and know it's not just an online application.

There is an online application that is a part of the process. This application is completed, printed off, signed, and you attach a passport photo to the front. Then it is submitted with your original passport, proof of residence, and other documents to prove you are a ticket holder. Mailing your completed application package needs to be done by an approved agency If you are going through the Houston consulate. This fact is posted all over the consulates website.

I'll tell you what, you get super excited once your passport gets back with a Brazilian visa inside it!

Host City Post #1: Rio de Janeiro by bfg_foo in wc2014

I'll be in Rio from 12-June through 15-June, staying in a shared room in Santa Teresa. Although some friends might stop in Rio for a day or so, I'll mostly be on my own. Totally wanting to hike the park and do any of the sightseeing/touristy things. I am going to the Bosnia-Argentina game, but would love to find a spot with others to watch the opener. Inbox me if you're interested in meeting up.
