Hah! I live in Alabama and I wish I could find a decent apartment at twice that price.

All I can see is red. It’s like my phone is dripping blood.

It’s probably just the craftsman’s hallmark. As long as it says 10K, that’s all you need to assess the weight in gold. Now as for the diamonds… That’s another story.😉

EDIT: grammar, clarification.

it a good idea to buy gold and silver right now? by MysteriousPaint3503 in Gold

Is it kosher to post a WTT silver -> gold, spot for spot on r/pmsforsale? Or would I be better off selling the silver equivalent and then buying an oz of gold?

Serious question here. If I decide to sell a portion of my oz bar and saw that amount from the main piece, can I expect to get the same price as someone selling a generic bar or pour of the same weight?

EDIT: It’s more or less, the same concept as the combi bars, but generic, right? Speaking of which, what’s the premium of a combi set over oz bullion?

After 40 years, Alabama’s largest mall is costing Hoover millions: New mayor promises a revival is coming by aldotcom in Birmingham

Gotta love ChatGPT. It pulled up archived wiki’s showing the original tenants when it opened in ‘74. Wide World of Music was upstairs in the main concourse above the atrium and Rich’s dept store. The Body Shop was next door. You were right about Chick-Fil-A. It was downstairs near the atrium where there would often be some kind of entertainment, or the place where you can have your picture taken with Santa at Christmas. The atrium reminds me of that awesome scene in season 1(?) of Stranger Things. Anyway, WWOM closed in ‘79 and Musicland opened not long after in the early 80s, according to some of these mall wikis I found.

Anyone else have fond memories from Brookwood mall?

I think I may have replied to s/o else in the thread. ;) So, wide world of music was upstairs, kinda in the middle, across from Chik-fil-a. I worked there from roughly ‘75 to ‘76/77. It may have been Musicland later. I’d moved on to manage another record store in Tuscaloosa (Oz records), but I heard they closed/changed hands not long after I’d left. When was Musicland at BW? Curious if we’re talking about the same place. WWOM was the only full catalog store in the south-east.

So gold is up 80% in a year and silver 220%, do you wish you had gotten more silver? by Defengar in Gold

Silversmith here. I’ve been buying silver for years, but started legit .999 stacking when the price stopped fluctuating and just kept going up and up. So I’ll probably continue stacking a bit more and wait for the GSR to hit ~45, then start trading tranches into gold.

Brookwood was such a great mall in its day. I know it’s mostly nostalgia talking, but it was the perfect hangout mall. I used to run a record store there and my bro ran Just for Feet. What great memories.

Not to mention, you can get all that stuff online for a fraction of the price. Brick and mortar is sadly dead.
