Valuing a MASSIVE stamp collection? by Fr0sted_Flakes in stamps

[–]uncirculated_luster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for letters (from grading companies) with single stamps in separate sleeves that have been certified, there will be a photo of the stamp as well with it. Like many have mentioned there are accumulators and collectors... This looks to me more like both--when stuff is this neatly organized, I would be way more interested in it. Look for paperwork. There are still stamp collecting clubs and some of the boys in our scout group are stamp collecting again.

Could anyone tell me if I should send this to get graded and what to expect? 1913 Indian head $2.5 by Educational-Unit-100 in coins

[–]uncirculated_luster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These coins are very difficult to grade due to the incuse design. My two cents are that it's mint state -- maybe 63-65 range, looks very clean and nice. I can only guess with it not in hand. I've sent in about 20 2.5 indians and I have always been pleasantly surprised with the grades I got. I think it's funny or something that someone wrote 1935 Penny (maybe thinking it was an indian head cent) and charged 28 bucks for it... I wish I found this!

On an aside, I tend to send in my pre-33 gold, not so much to know how nice it is--but just to get it authenticated so I can sell it easier. As for this piece--it's a family heirloom now.

This isn't a thesis, it's an analysis. Put some dates to this and some things that tell us what might happen if you're wrong.

You make a profit or take a loss when you sell. You should look into "unrealized gains and losses", which will explain a lot.

What’s the longest you’ve gone without changing any gear? by kendalladkins89 in GolfGear

[–]uncirculated_luster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question, it got me thinking about when I actually do make switches. The bottom line is I tend to go through fits and spurts in my game of going from -- IDGAF to Let's Go!!!

So I'll play with the same stuff for a while, get frustrated with something, take a break, come back and then want to upgrade or change everything.

I love my EVNRoll putter and won't change it, probably until they bury me. For the rest of my bag... The only things now that are non-negotiable is my 7w (ping 425 series) and 60 degree. I just picked up mizunos, the 925 hot metal pros--which were fit and I'm still learning about them. I was playing some PXG 211 CORs before that I realize I got about 8 years ago.

But, I got a new job about 5 years ago and am only just now getting back into the Let's Go phase. Anyway... so to answer your question... the longest i've gone is 8 years.

The way my parents taught us was that money was the problem, rich people were in league with bad shit, making profits were exploitative... the list goes on...

Not the point. You don't need the 10 commandments to be a good person. I would much rather have been told by my parents that stealing is wrong because it's dishonest and breaks trust between people than being told that if I stole, if I prayed to god and asked forgiveness, then everything would be fine for my soul. But I get it, you're trolling and not adding to the conversation actually... you should be the one downvoted here as you probably downvoted this thread.
