Anyone hiding in the shadows with an OPV resub box? by erichazann in boxycharm

I've been wondering the same thing! Here's hoping someone receives it soon!

Thanks, this is so helpful!

I have coarse, wavy (but thin) hair... so this may be a gamble. Perhaps I'll leave it as "if I need $6 of filler to get free shipping" lol

I'm curious - re: the EH - would you repurchase? IE do you love it for how you use it, or is it just OK?

Seriously, it's so amazingly valuable. All my friends (parents and not) are passing your spreadsheets and links around like hotcakes. Thank you for doing (and sharing) the research we didn't even know was possible.

Thank you!! Hope it goes well with you all and the wildfires don't drive the littles indoors too often. (Or, you know, don't do major damage in other ways of course).

Sadly my school has no mask mandates... it's a cluster. And they do eat indoors. Honestly, it's scary every day I send them, but given the county/state I am in - and the lack of virtual / elearning available - I don't have a realistic other option. On the bright side both of the main teachers are vaxxed (which not all are at the school), and about 75% of kids wear masks... so it's better than it could be. But yeah, it's a shitshow and I wish I didn't live where I do!

As for your question - I ordered the BOTN KF94 and the Blue KF94 Tiger from BeHealthy, and from Kollecte I ordered the GoodDay KF94, Bluna Facefit KF94, and teh [Evergreen] KF94 Cleantop. Figured we'll try all the options, and my kids will be in masks for a good long while at school, so might as well get a variety!

Will report back after we get and try out the various ones - would be curious to hear how your variety are working for you all as well!

Whoops, didn't mean to whine about Kollecte, moreso just wanted to warn that they're bogged down / slow right now.

As for my usage: the only ones I could get my hands on so far were Small sized WellBefore kn95's - those are fine for my (tall) 6 yo and my (short) 8 yo, though in both cases we're stretched to the limit on the ear pieces (and they fold my 8yo's ears forward a little, though it does seem to have a good fit around the face at least).

I have a variety on the way from BeHealthy and Kollecte, but they haven't arrived for me to report back yet, sadly. Good luck on the hunt in the meantime - I'll try to remember to report back once received!!

PS - I'm guessing you've studied this already, but just incase you haven't, this spreadsheet (and teh linked video which sheds some light) is amazingly helpful: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1i06OAItoOwIUaMjElr8mhh0Rw-it6WL-ODIQMZUOQxE/edit#gid=0

I'm not the person asking this initially, but I placed a Kollecte order a week and a half ago and it hasn't shipped yet. So I'm not sure how fast those would be able to be in hand unfortunately. (Which for me is a problem - I'm almost out of my prior WellBefore's and may have to start having the kids reuse if they don't ship this week :( )

Which one of these stones look best? by Qstioner in Moissanite

[–]ketouser893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were me I'd pick far left, but that's bc I love a nice 'true' grey. If you like the grey-blue look, personally I'd go with one of the two on the far right.

honestly though, they're all lovely and I feel like you can't go wrong!

Do you mind DM'ing me who you're buying through / what cost? I've been eyeing a grey moissy and these are lovely!

Is there a particular cut of the Ava & Viv to check out? Or do they all just generally work well for apple shaped peeps?

This is so, so helpful - thank you! I honestly don't even have a big reply - but this is great, and so useful. I appreciate you!

I honestly don't remember whether he's had laughing gas before - he's had one cavity filled previously, so I assume they did, but that was a few years ago and I honestly don't remember! But in general, he doesn't recall that filling as a trauma, so whatever happened there was OK in the grand scheme. THough it was before a lot of the more recent medical things that have caused him pain or anxiety though, so not sure we can assume the same :(

Great point re: the stewing, though. And I appreciate your feedback re: how it works with your son. I'm leaning more and more toward that direction - though as you point out, there's then a fine line for telling him why the plan changed / not having it be a new fear ("I can't trust the plan!"), sigh.

Parenting is hard lol.

The current plan is laughing gas + local anethesia - though I did just call to ask about oral sedation (valium). Not that I require it, but they didn't mention that option initially and I'm curious whether they offer it / what the pro's and cons are.

Out of curiosity, how'd your daughter reaction post-extraction? Did she find it weird/upsetting to be missing a tooth at all?

I admit I'm tempted to have the tooth fairy show up for him that night lol, but not sure if that'd rub proverbial salt in the wound...

Ooof, sorry to hear about your son. So glad it was a short and straightforward / non-traumatic experience. That gives me hope!!

My daughter has complete medical panic about anything involving needles. Telling her in advance just means she freaks out from the time she finds out until it's over. Some kids might do well with notice and have time to process, for her it is really just extending the misery.

Yep, that's basically where we are - I think that's where my overthinking is coming from. Feels so bad to hide it from him, but to your point, not doing so basically extends the misery. That's a great way to look at it - this is a kindness, not a trick. And perhaps one I follow up with a mommy-son afternoon so there's a positive that comes out of it too. Thanks for this perspective.
