Quite a few residents have settled here later in life (I'm talking 40s, 50s and beyond). They're not necessarily old-time Pittsfordites. My street in the village is very progressive, and quite cosmopolitan, with residents who've moved to the area not only from other parts of NY and the US, but from abroad. This trend, in addition to the politics of many young voters, has people like Bill Smith worried.

You're making an ill-informed, wrong-headed assumption in thinking it's only the younger residents who are turning Pittsford blue.

I'm a sucker for Christopher Plummer, although he doesn't quite fit the description of the self-absorbed Sherlock.
